I have decided to launch my own guinea pig rescue and just wanted to let you all know.

I have gained so much invaluable experience by working as a foster carer with Sokel Guinea Pig Rescue (for which I thank you Graham) and the decision to open my own rescue is twofold.

Firstly, I have seen just how many guinea pigs do come into Sokel Guinea Pig Rescue and realise that another rescue will not "tread on any toes" of the other rescues around this area. Of course that is not the issue - it is the guinea pigs and the ever increasing number coming in that is our (and should be everyone in rescue's) main concern.

Secondly, it has always been an ambition of mine to work closely with animals and guinea pigs just so happen to be my favourite pet and I have learned so much from Sokel that I feel it is a good time to launch my own Rescue.

I have asked Helen to come on board and she has kindly agreed to help. Helen will also remain working with Sokel Guinea Pig Rescue, and I do hope that the two Rescues - and indeed any and all Rescues in this area will be able to work closely together and help each other out in times of need - as of course we all want to help each other.

Helen will be of invaluable help to me, not least for her considerable knowledge and experience, but also because she does collect and deliver so many guinea pigs up and down the M6 and the M74 and both her and my partner Mark will help with this.

I do have a Website which is in its new stages if you'd like too look

Hey Becky - your website looks brilliant! It's very pretty and the work you are doing it just brilliant good for you. I just wish you were closer!

Love it.

Best of luck!
May you have courage, dedication and determination; good health and stamina; endless patience with impossible people even more than with tricky animals and their woes; and a very supportive husband!

I have put your website in my growing collection of rescues to recommend if I come across people on the forum who might want to contact you!

Best of luck with your rescue Becky! Nice to hear of a new rescue, I dont think there could ever be too many of them, going off to toot at your website now! xx

Good luck

Becky your fantastic at what you do for these piggies! I wish you well in this new venture - you have all the necessary requirements needed for a successful rescue. A perfect foster momma you are and with Helen on board too I know this rescue will do wonders for the piggy world x

I wish you all the best in your new venture. The website looks fab and I truly think it is a wonderful thing that you are doing.

I am glad the response is positive and just to back what Graham said, the split was not due to fall outs or arguments, I am gratefull to Graham for everything :)

With so many piggies needing homes I don't think there can ever be too many rescues. The website looks great, and I wish you all the best with your new venture.

I head up and down the M74/M6 occasionally (Stirling to Eastbourne very occasionally!) and so may be able to help you (and Sokel) out with piggy trains now and again.

Brilliant news Becky! I'm chuffed to bits! How many piggies will you let me rescue off you? I want them all!!!

Reading things like this...Just make me feel so happy inside.
It's lovely to meet such caring people.

It takes hard work and dedication but it takes a whole lot of love.

I'm sure you'll do a wonderful job. I wish you the best of luck.

It must fill you with such joy and satisfaction, knowing that you're giving these little guys a chance to have loving homes.

8... It just makes me well up with happiness.
It's so wonderful. It really is.

I'm sorry 8... I'm too soft for my own good.

Best of luck Becky. From all accounts, from what you've done with Helen and Graham, you'll be brilliant at everything you do with your rescue. Any piggies who come to you will be lucky piggies.

well done and good on you to be brave enough to start a rescue i would be completely useless and never let anyone adopt and keep them all. I wish you all the best in your endeavor of building lots of better futures for lots of little piggies.
