Lethal Guinea Pig

Hi so the time has come she has been playing happily with my other girls and they have been trying to teach her the way but any advice on how best to introduce her full time to the enclosure as they seem to become a bit short with her with time ? Or should I weight till she is a bit bigger?

@Wiebke any advice?

We have a number of lethal piggies here at TEAS and they bond well with 'normal' piggies. The bond can be a little confusing at first, for the 'normal' piggies, as lethals tend to raise their heads, as they sniff the air. This raising of the head can be viewed by the other guinea pigs as a sign of dominance, but as the rest of their behaviour doesn't back this up, they soon realise that this isn't anything to be worried about.

We have videos on our Facebook page of our lethal piggies. The Excellent Adventure Sanctuary (for guinea pigs with extra needs)

Thank you they seem to take well to her but seem to get abit snappy as she runs around in circles alot. Especially when she is happy or excited and I've seen the others nipping her or trying to headbut her. I'm just worried with her being so much smaller

They said she more then likely will need dentals but to go back when she is older as it looks like her bottom teeth are coming through so she may not need dentals :)
Haven’t seen an update for a while! How is little Snowy now? Any bottom teeth through yet? Have you tried her with your other sows yet? I’ve found that sows are generally very caring with babies from anyone else’s litter so would look after her for you, particularly when you have to go to work!,

Must have been typing my enquiry as you were answering the one from TEAS! Sorry if it’s a bit confusing!

Haha that is fine she is doing well gaining weight well she has went from 80 to 120 grams and is determined to eat solids even though her bottom teeth are useless they just keep dropping out :( but she is managing and seems to have developed a way to cope .. somehow. I'm just worried about my girls snapping as her way of popcorning is to run in massive circles which is earning her a few tips and headvuts but she is so small.
I'm hoping to just keep increasing the length of playtimes see if that helps

Hey could do with some advice as I have been trying her on different foods ( gutted the only dry food she will eat is the horrible multicoloured stuff as it seems to be softer) but the main concern is her vedgies I've tried. Lettuce parsnip cucumber green beans, celery, tomato apple. But so far the only thing she will eat is carrot she goes nuts for it what should I do as she can't have carrot all the time can she?

Is she managing to eat her hay Ok?
@ TEAS would be best to ask for suggestions as she deals with Lethal Pigs

Hi she struggles with hay but does eat some she only has her top two teeth no others as he bottom ones just keep falling out :( I am currently grating and cutting the carrot into small bits / strips and she eats that fine but turns her head away from any others even if I prepared them the same way. But I know piggies need a variety of vedgies.
She is still gaining weight she is up to 140g now so I'm not over concerned just her vedgies I've even tried rubbing others with the carrot to see if she will try them if they smell different and mixing them together but somehow she manages to eat the carrot and leave the rest :(

Why didn't I think of fresh grass .. I will have to go find some that I know isn't treated xx

I just wanted to chime in with other posts earlier on in this thread; she is beautiful and you are incredible for taking her in an giving her such a loving home. I have no experience with lethals, but regarding getting her on solid foods, for pellets, would it be worth soaking them in some warm water to soften them? I've done this for poorly pigs before and even the healthy girls liked it. I just had to change the bowl a few times a day to make sure there were no ill effects.

Thanks I used to soak them then the poor girl turned her nose up when she met my big piggies and tried theres she has a strong will. I still put some in every so often but she prefers the horrible colours. Asking as she is growing I can be more stubborn when she is older I guess haha
As for the incisors I kept an eye and noticed small teeth growing in the bottom after I had her for a week but they fell out before they could be of any use at all :(
