I was wondering what your thoughts are on lettuce. It's just that I have read on several occasions that it is meant to be given in small amounts and just occasionally due to the high calcium content.
Thank you
Thank you

I feel like a terrible owner for even trying to feed Pol and Sage that! (They wouldn't touch it though, they're fussy Oh no! Lol I think they must be quite good at knowing what they shouldn't eat anyway, would have to for living in the wild! The biggest revelation for me is that tomato vines are poisonous!I feel like a terrible owner for even trying to feed Pol and Sage that! Yeah I know a romaine should be fed less, I usually give the leafy green and red lettuceI know romaine can cause sluge in their kidneys
Yes, the frizzy stuff or stuff that basically isn't the thick watery lettuce similar to iceberg or romaine, I'll try get a pic..what type is classed as leafy green? We buy a trio lettuce, it had red and green in it, like a frizzy lettuce or whatever you call it.
Excuse the questions.. I lost a boar to bladder stones this year so I'm very paranoid about what I give them now... it stresses me out if I'm totally honest.

I'll be honest, can't say I ever check where it is from :/ Will take a pic of the one I buy next time, usually from Tesco or SainsburysThat's the normal british one isn't it?
Hi, sorry bit confused, can't find where on the sticky it says about lettuce...?I have heard from somewhere that lettuce is high calcium ! The information is so conflicting ! Even Wiebke says so in her sticky. I rarely give lettuce nowadays . The debate about whether it's bad can continue - basically - there's not much in it that is good for guinea pigs !
whenever I get confused , I refer back to the sticky ...

... and as many of you may already be aware, the " core " of my guinea pigs' diet is taken from a diet recommended by some experts ...
1 piece cucumber
1 sprig of dill or coriander
1 small piece of spring green
1 piece green pepper
2 pieces of celery
1 french bean.
... twice a day per piggy
