Senior Guinea Pig
Gwenivere is covered in tiny brown lice. I think they are static lice, they don't appear to be running anywhere or wriggling, just clinging to her hair. The last batch of hay was pretty yellow/brown and generally quite low quality, so I suspect she has 'caught' the lice from the hay sometime in the past week. The other pigs appear okay, but all will be treated anyhow. The last of the crappy hay is now gone, it's back to green, fresh Meadow once again along with Readigrass and Alfalfa King (the Oat, Wheat and Barley variety) - so hopefully they won't get reinfested!
I've not dealt with lice before, but am aware that Lice 'n' Easy from GG, or Fleaordie, are the best shampoos for this. As luck would have it, I have neither to hand, and it would be at least 2 days before anything I order online arrives. Is there anything else that would work, or are these two the only ones that really do a good job with getting rid of lice?
