Adult Guinea Pig
Oh my goodness!
I "love" it how people seem to get into this ring of abuse where their pig gets ill and they just watch them get worse and worse until they eventually decide to rehome the pig so that someone else can deal with a medical problem that, three weeks ago, would have been a BREEZE to treat but now is a trainwreck of symptomatic pain and trauma and oh so more difficult to just wipe up.
What, honestly goes through their heads? Embarassment that they will be judged at the vet office? Lack of finances so they hope it'll just go away?
God - fungal won't just decide one day that it's had enough of the piggy back ride and decide to sit in the cage until it can be deposited into the bin. Two fighting guinea pigs aren't just going to wake one one day and decide "You know what, I actually luff you!" over a freshly filled water bottle. If your pig isn't eating it isn't going to look into the mirror one day and realise that they look more adorable chubby.
I have absolutely NO respect for people who let animals - not to mention these adorable, quirky little gems - get so bad. How dare they become so negligent after taking on an animal to care for.
You look at some pigs and wonder how they can still exist and then you look at poor Boris' owner who is doing SO MUCH to care for her pig and is fighting with him every step of the way.

On a less emotional note. I would appreciate it if you kept me (and the forum?) posted on the progress of these two little darlings.
Thank you for taking them in.
