My son has gotten very good at giving meds on his own now, yes he they can be a pain in the bottom but he just keeps trying until they hold still.

Does anyone know if the guinea pig is better?

Didn't realise I hadn't updated this since Monday! Time flies! Yes Betty is much better :) she's giving the impression that she's 100% better but we're still doing meds :) going to Vets on Friday to get more meds :)

Good to here, heres a pic of BB who has also been poorly, shes very similar to your Betty :) Guys on this forum have proved to be very helpful in advising me of helping her etc. She weighed 450g when i brought her home 3 weeks ago and she now weighs 550g and having undergone dental work and xrays last thursday is tucking into her feed with Gusto

I'm so pleased she is on the mend, normally with this kind of thing two weeks course of medication is advised I believe? Just to make sure it's completely gone! :)

Aww your G.Pig is so cute! Very like Betty :)! We're still on 461g atm, going to the Vets tomorrow morning and see what they say. I think they'll be amazed at her recovery! The Vet Nurse and Vet were quite concerned about her ( as we all were!).

Sorry I haven't been on this, have no internet in the house for a while! Vet nurse was so thrilled with Betty's progress, we're still on meds for another 2 weeks but we'll be going back to see them before they finish :) we were on 470g last night! So everything is going very well :)

That's really good news. One of our guinea pigs has to go for an op on Wednesday. the xray he had showed 2 bladder stones.

@Almostmad Oh errr we had to have him pts :( we were messed around so much and the PDSA making him wait too long for surgery (they found he had bladder stones), he lost more weight even though he was being hand fed and we were advised by the vet to have him pts... very heartbreaking as I was quite close to him, plus the second guinea since Feb to be pts.

Oh goodness I'm so sorry! That's awful your poor Guinea :( I'm really sorry, I had no idea :( lots of hugs being sent your way. Hope you're alright :( x

Thank you. I'm just feeling a bit fed up as this is the second guinea we've had pts since Feb, this one affected me differently because we'd had him for over a year and we had a bond, plus he was pretty tame and would come to you and let you stroke him etc.

I hope your guinea pig is ok now.

Update on Betty - going strong gained weight! Up to 560g now!
Also have just got her a companion guinea pig :) again from work, this wee one had a bit of a traumatic start in life but she's in a good home now! They're separated atm. New guinea pig is called Agatha or 'Aggie' for short :) she's an Abyssinian so she's quite funky looking! X
