Rigby
Junior Guinea Pig
I haven't posted for a long time, but feeling bereft having said goodbye to Mae today, and just wanted to reach out to those who would understand.
Mae suffered a stroke in February, but fought on bravely and recovered well. Unfortunately, the stroke turned out to be a symptom of a brain tumour, which gradually affected her balance, vision and movement.
She never stopped eating, or trotting out to see what was going on and she still loved a cuddle right until the end. But today she was unable to swallow properly, and one of her eyes became paralysed. Her breathing became laboured and it was clear she had little time left.
I am heartbroken. She was six years and eight months old. I feel lost without her.
Rest in peace, my lovely Mae.
