We had Emma at the vets yesterday after I discovered a large marble sized lump on her side :( The vet says it isn't stationary and is soft but she does feel it may be a tumour :(

My options were to monitor it, have a fine needle aspiration sent off or book her in for lump removal and have the lump analysed.

Due to her age of at least 5, I'd rather her not have surgery unless it's necessary so I have opted for the lump aspiration.

I am so worried as I've lost two piggies now to lymphoma and I'm also worried that I've made the wrong decision and should have had the lump off :(

When Erika has lymphoma, she had symmetrical lumps on her lymph nodes. This one on Emma is positioned near her front armpit but more to her sides so my vet really couldn't say at this stage.

Please send lots of healing vibes that this is nothing sinister. She's my baby and the wait for the results is agonising :(

xxxxxxx

I am really sorry Claire. Hoping the results will be rule anything sinister out. Waiting is the worst bit... You are doing the right thing mate, once you have results then cross the next bridge then. Sending you lots of love and love to Emma too x x x x

Healing vibes from me to Emma! xx

I really know how you feel, my other boy Ampeeri has been unwell for over a month, and we're back at the vet's in a few hours. Hugs!

Lots of healing vibes being sent from here. My Jon has a lump on his chest, and it's nothing sinister, so I really hope Emma's is just the same.

Sending healing vibes

You are a great Piggy Mum Claire so, please don't doubt your decisions . You are doing what you consider is best for Emma - and that's all any of us can do for our piggies. I really hope it is good news but know you will give Emma the best quality of life whatever the test results show .

Sending healing vibes your way. Hope Emma is OK. Whatever the results we all know you are doing your best for little Emma x:nod:

So sorry. Poor little Emma, I hope she has a swift recovery. Hugs to you both!

Thinking of you Claire, sorry that you have all this worry. Lets hope its just a harmless bump xx

@Claire W Thank you! My boy unfortunately was given two weeks on the meds he has already been to get better, and if he doesn't, there's nothing more to be done. I have a thread on him in the H&I section in case you'd like a look. I really do hope you will have better news than me for your Emma! Also happy gotcha day for her! xx

I am sorry to hear this :( I have just had a read of your thread, it sounds like Ampeeri has a lot going on.

Massive (((hugs))) xx

I was hoping to have heard something by today so it looks like it will be after the weekend now.

We have my sister in law and her daughter and partner staying this weekend and I can do without it to be honest :(

The wait is killing me as I just want Emma to be ok xx

I have finally heard back from my vet

Emma doesn't have lymphoma but she does have a cancerous tumour :( At at least 5 years old, more likely nearer 6 or older, we don't know what to do :( But my vet, Lindsay has requested to see her again in the morning so she can have another feel of the lump and have a proper discussion on where to go from here...

Any advise is appreciated xx

I have no advice to give, but I just wanted to say I'm really sorry to hear the news from your vet. :(
I'm wishing you and Emma all the best! xx

Sorry to hear about those results. Lots to talk about with your vet. How is she in herself? Eating ok?
I had a boy with a cancerous lump on his back aged 5 and after discussing options, assessing general health we did opt to have it removed. It was growing v rapidly but we had caught it early on. He had another 9 to 10 months of life which is a lot in piggy terms. The op was quite tough though as they have to take quite a margin of healthy skin so if u opt for that be prepared for a big scar initially but hair grew back quickly. I think a lots depends on how aggressive the vet thinks the cancer is and how well she is overall. Head stroke for Emma and hug for you.

Thank you.

Emma is acting perfectly normal and the tumour is located in her armpit.

The decision is just so hard and I don't want her to suffer :(

I guess all I can do right now is wait and see what my vet suggests tomorrow.

Would the biopsy results show whether it is aggressive or not? I know that's a silly question x
