Maybe try a little bit of parsley or coriander or cucumber to make the wee soul more comfortable and feel you are to be trusted.

Have you tried having them on your lap together? Might make them feel a bit less scared if their pal is with them.

Then cover them whilst they are on your lap and slip some desireable goodies under there with them. Dandelion leaves are like for my two.

I tried treats but she was too scared to eat

She will get there, they both will. When mine were little, every time I handled them I checked them over ears, teeth, feet etc then offered a treat. Eventually it will be accepted.

Give them time and don’t be put off, they will get used to lap time especially if you produce the odd treat

I think if they don’t enjoy something there’s no point in doing it. Their needs come first. I’ll try and get them used to it a bit for the sake of cutting toe nails and the like…

She’s accepting pea flakes on my lap so I guess that’s a good sign!

That’s the reason I don’t cuddle my boys every day. I check them over weekly and weigh them and they are fine to eat on my lap. But they don’t really want a “cuddle”. They want to get back into the cage and eat hay.

I also check their eyes, nose, breathing and movements every time I stop to chat with them. They will definitely let me stroke them in the cage as long as they have nummies to eat as well.
