Morning,
Thank you Missy.

Before I forget what your last paragraph stated, I thought I'd comment on it now, lol. I have a couple of small fleeces here and I think it has had softener, but I folded it over so it would fit inside Daisy's igloo and when she went inside before bed, after half hour I put my hand inside and I must say it felt a lot warmer and cozy for her. So thank you very much for telling me.
Since Wednesday, when Daisy did not poo much, I took her to the vet appointment last night and saw the vet that operated on her.
I didn't want to seem rude, but put my notes in front of him to tell him what I'd been doing this week and just said I thought you might like to read what's been happening to date and that I've also listed medication on the back sheet and would like your advice......
Daisy had not gained or lost weight (as far as I note from the vet).
My son found a scab on her back in between her fur, so I said to remind me to tell the vet. Upon close inspection, vet pulled it off, together with a clump of hair!:{ I asked why would she have that on her back, he said it's likely to be from where she had her injections!
It was unbelievable, because the last two occasions when I've taken her to vets, she starts eating some hay that's with her, yet didn't touch it at home! Quite comical really.
Vet gave a syringe of Metaclopramide (sp?) and advised using 0.1ml every 12 hours.
Vet didn't have any Metatone tonic, so I couldn't do a lot about that. Any advice, would be appreciated.
Vet brought in 4 little 20g Supreme Science Recovery sachets and asked if we'd had this before...........I said NO! Commented on it again about how much to give and reiterated his question. I said no, we were never given anything like this when she came out of here! (Hubby reckons that this is probably why Daisy went down hill a little and wouldn't eat, because she wasn't given a continuation of this feed when she came out). We had nothing to feed her, only the hay (which she wasn't eating) and this Wagg. We are new to this and didn't know much about piggies, let alone what Critical Care was. Actually I feel annoyed, but if I let it out, I will get so upset and snap, plus I don't feel too good in health either, so I think it's best I stay cool. Thing is, when you don't know any different, you accept what you are being told, don't you?
So, from
Thurs evening 7.30pm, this is what happened:-
Made up recovery feed using 3/4 packet mixed with water to a pureed texture. Syringed fed Daisy just 2 mls.

Plus 2mls of Cranberry/water.
She squeaked and squeaked when she heard me open fridge door to get out some lettuce etc.

Made up both Maisy and Daisy portions of vegetables. Daisy ate a whole romaine leaf, broken up.
Half a baby sweetcorn.
Strip of red pepper, cut into 4 and ate 3 pieces.
Slice cucumber cut into 4.
Small handful Kale.
Brocolli - Not eaten.
I was astounded and she wasn't fussed previously during the week.
I settled her for bed (you know what I mean, lol), then I got up at 12.25 - 1.45am today and syringed fed her nearly 3mls of the previous recovery.
3/4 of sweetcorn by herself.
Leaf romaine.
3 bits red pepper.
Small handful kale.
I couldn't believe it because she squeaked and when started to eat, she munched very quickly (as they do), something of which hasn't happened until this morning since her op. She's chewed very slowly, which is why I wondered if there was anything wrong with her teeth. Obvioulsy, appetite was not there, I guess?
Plus, since her last feed from last night, she had pood alot, (will upload pic on weekend, (can't wait I hear you all say, LOL)).
Plus, she had pood again, a bit less though, since 1.45am.
Next, 6.25 this morning, she had nearly 4mls of a new packet of recovery, (I threw a tablespoon of previous night's out), and she had 6mls of the vitamin c, plus bit of veg.
Next feed time will be 1pm today.
It's very early days yet, but I can't thank you all enough, you have all been a life line. What with putting fleece in bed to make it cosier and putting little piles of hay here and there, it has certainly helped. She nibbled outside her igloo and in the corner. Still sits and does nothing, but a little improvement than before.
I'm not sure about whether to put this recovery feed in fridge, and/or how long I can use the made up portion, before starting another. I left it covered in little bowl this morning, so it wouldn't be too cold if from the fridge. Is this okay?
Also, am having trouble with this tiny 1.0ml syringe, especially with the pureed food. Broke the top off one this morning and I'm (let alone Daisy) getting frustrated. I hope her little lips are alright. It goes in okay most of the time, but she does struggle, so I just cwtch her, as she seems to snuggle in to my chest when I'm giving it to her, then we have a few mins and try again.
Advice for feeding with certain syringes will be brill. I don't want to make food too runny see. I just don't want to stress her out, especially if this is going to be a long process.
