Hi so I’m thinking about making new fleece liners for my piggies cos they are currently on shavings and for health benefits I wish to put them in fleece as it would be better for them. But I’m not too sure what to put as the absorbent layer and I can’t use Uhaul as I'm in England and zorb is just too expensive for me. Any help would be much appreciated. ❤️

I think some have used wadding in between two layers of fleece. I used a waterproof mattress protector between two pieces of fleece and it served me well.

I used ones from Tesco, B&M and online. Though I can’t remember the brand I bought online.

Hello, I got my piggies 4 months ago and immediately made some fleece liners. I went to B&M and got one of their fleece pet blankets, they’re super thick and better than your average fleece blanket. Then I got a mattress protector that has absorbency on there and then another mattress protector which is waterproof and has a little bit of terry towering on it as well. So three layers in all. I cannot take any credit for this, I follow squeakdreams on YouTube and she has a great tutorial and definitely recommend you give it a watch :) link is here for the pads (I used this method to make one big one)
here is an older video of hers for a big cage liner:

Good luck! 😊

Thank you so much that’s really helpful I have the fleece from b and m as I saw it was a good price and really good quality! What brand mattress protectors did you use? ❤️

I found these three from tesco the towelling one I believe is like a terry towelling sort of fabric and I believe the others are just normal ones. Which do you think would work best. Thank you for the help! ❤️

Did you use the same brand of absorbent layers as she did and did it work as I’ve found the b&m mattress protector but it says that it is 100% polyester and I thought this wasn’t very absorbent? Not sure though ❤️

I have used both the terry towelling one and the normal one. They both worked fine. The only thing that put me off the peeling was the fact it…left fluff when it was cut. Can’t think of the word I want!

From these i would get one of the waterproof ones and then the mattress protector which isn’t waterproof as well

What do you mean by the peeling? Sorry for all the questions ❤️

I've made loads of fleece cage liners and for the absorbant layer i used Washable incontinence bed pads from amazon - the ones you put under a sheet on a single bed... they are fab, you can wash at 90 degrees and mine lasted well over 5 years!
