ok i just gave marble a bit more food but wen i put him back in his cage i realised there was a bit of blood on my top from where his bum had been is this serious?

Sorry to hear this Trudy, I would seek vet advice with his lack of poops and now bleeding, maybe he has a blockage?

Hope he will be ok. x

Well he did a few poos this morning but they were like round clumps rather than like normal piggy poo?

Could he be impacted? I've no experience with that but does seem possible there is a huge area on guinea lynx dedicated to it.

I think he does need examining to check what is up with him, whether gastric, renal or otherwise. If you can get to AP or an experienced vet/rodentologist, it would be worth it.

It does sound like impaction.
Still waiting, if you wish to call me, anytime upto mid-night.
Bring the pig up if you want.

Sorry alcesterpigs thanks for your offer but think we are going to take him to a vet, if they draw another blank then i will give you a call, he seems to be eating more now, and drinking so hopefully getting better.

It makes a change to speak to an owner, much quicker than typing!!
Have you sorted out his impaction yet?

yep just done it, took a few seconds, we managed to get most if not all of it out, what he passed was about the same size as a grape, so he must feel better now, thanks very much for your help.

Good. Just think of the money you have saved!
I still can't believe what you told me about his teeth.

Yeah i know, do you know how to trim there back teeth to?

Just curious how do you know so much about guinea pigs?

Guilty conscience, you have just reminded me I have three pigs in need of my attention!
Practical experience etc is a good way to learn about anything.
