How old is nutmeg?

Ooh yes, she’ll have to send in her stripey nose club application! Eddie has come back to all his usual enthusiasm which is lovelyNutmeg is beautiful! She looks a lot like my Mabel. Looking at her pic she would make a lovely new member of the stripey nose club
I think Eddie is a lucky boy x
You’re right, they are very young. I was going to leave them a few days to let Nutmeg settle in and let Ed get over his initial excitement, but I do have the option to bond them sooner if they need it. Not sure of Nutmeg’s exact age, the rescue just said about four months. She is only small and her poops are tiny!Hello Nutneg! Welcome to your new home!
With such young piggies I wouldn't wait too long before bonding. I'm sure everything will go smoothly - well rumbly.![]()

She’s had a few pellets this morning and then disappeared into the hay bag. Ed abandoned his breakfast as soon as she appeared to go back to bar biting![]()

I have mixed feelings with it being so soon after Tofu, but Ed spooked me when he lost weight the first couple of days. He’s very happily munching hay through the bars next to her now
PS: Is she going to be Nutty ot Meggie?![]()

Apart from LordE going overboard in the heavy metal department and losing his brain in the bonding process (brace yourself, that part is never pretty but survivable for a piggy Lady), I would expect them to become a proper love match. The signs are all there.Thank you @Merab and @Wiebke - you’ve both made me feel a lot better about missing Tofu while enjoying getting to know Nutmeg
Probably Meggie - we’ve been affectionately calling her Lady Meg as she seems quite calm and dignified so fara fitting successor to Tofu indeed (plus she loves coriander, which he’d greatly approve of)
Lord Ed & Lady Meg, if all goes well with bonding. OH said we’d be calling her Nuts if she turns out to be a character though
I just caught a sweet interaction between them. Edamame paused his incessant bar biting to jump on the carrot cottage roof. Nutmeg decided she wanted to go say hello, bit the bars herself until he jumped down and came over
Sweet little sniffs through the bars, then she popcorned back into a hay pileof course now Ed is back to biting the bars and rumbling non-stop! Can’t blame him, she’s a sweetheart

I like nuttyOh, hello! Somebody has woken up!
Nutmeg will never replace Tofu; she is going to take you and Eddie on her own, very different adventure into unknown territory. The good thing about love is that it is not limited but that it multiplies. And that the number of places in your heart that a bond can tie into is endless, too. None will every take anything away from the other - and the same goes for Eddie.
See your life as a river - Tofu and Nutmeg will share different sections and different shores but you will always carry Tofu and all the other loves of your life with you in current - you still carry the water you have shared with Tofu with you.

You go girl. Keep that boar i. his place.I am a bit nervous about the bonding, as I’ve only had well-matched boar pairs so farpreparing myself for the antics. Ed has been doing some very impressive rumbles through the bars. I'm glad it sounds positive so far. She has been going out of her way to interact with him, which is nice
Me toowe’ll have to see if she lives up to it. She just did a proper wheek at veggie time!
I hope so! He’s calmer today than he was yesterdayLooking positive. Hopefully he’s a gentleman when they meet![]()

She keeps waiting for him to leave the bars before going over to nibble them and get him to come back over
Got some better photos of her at evening hay time (and Ed being his usual charming handsome selfcan’t believe how big he looks next to her, he was always so small next to Tofu)

Nothing like a wifelet for a life-long love affair! Giving Edamame time to get over his first wave of hormones is a good idea. And you can be reassured that he is no long depressed now that his gonads have kicked in!
Just brace for loads of vocal and peeing drama...
Nutmeg is very pretty! I had a Nutmeg years ago, she was closer to Edamame in colour tho w/o the white paws and w/o a little white bit on the nose. I called her Meggie, not Nutty.
