I once had Comet and Blitzen complain about my heat wave prep by shoving themselves into the same tunnel, side by side, and they chose the smaller tunnel so they got themselves stuck there and apparently decided they were okay with that and didn't alert me.
I almost had to resort to wrecking the tunnel to get them out. Did they care? They cared I disturbed their comfort, that's for sure![]()
I thought today was THE day!
I tried offering the girls some bell pepper again and Minerva had a curious nibble... then she dropped it on the floor and refused to touch it again.
(At least she didn't embarrass herself like Gaia, who ran away crying and then hid in the corner of the cage when offered a piece...)
Bell pepper is breakfast food only in this house. Try feeding it to them after breakfast and all four of them just look at you like "haha no, where's the actual food?"
My two just won't eat it at all. Have refused to try it their whole lives.
They'd rather eat green eggs and ham!
They really like them, Sam-I-am. They really like green eggs and ham!
(I've never actually read Green Eggs & Ham though lol).
But that means all the more pepper for you, so I'd call it a win.
My garden is overrun with daisies again and I want to put the girls outside when the weather is nice.
Are daisies poisonous to piggies or not? More to the point, do piggies think they taste nice? Because if they don't taste nice I have nothing to worry about; they won't touch them.
Lawn daisies aren't poisonous to guineas or to humans, so for taste you can try them out yourself! The green leaves and stem taste okay in the spring, I use them in wild herbal mixes, but going into summer and even worse autumn yuck yuck. The flower is milder than the green bits, but also gets less palatable as summer moves into autumn... The reason: daisy plant contains saponine. My garden is overrun with daisies again and I want to put the girls outside when the weather is nice.

Saxon is very good at that! I'm sure he's teaching Bramble too as she has started to get a bit more of an attitude! Then they used emotional blackmail to get some apple.
Well, Minerva, sometimes your Piggy Parent knows best! Not good for guineas to be out in what could turn into a downpour! Or even a thunderstorm.
Bianca once had the decision between staying outside in the open garden in the rain, or going back into the safe run... with @KHBz in it...Well, Minerva, sometimes your Piggy Parent knows best! Not good for guineas to be out in what could turn into a downpour! Or even a thunderstorm.
I don't know about that; I think she was after snacks and instead I tried to make her get some exercise. She had a nap instead but it was probably a protest nap.Nice to know she’s trained you to jump at her every command![]()
Is it the season or something? Because Gaia will not stop screaming the place down for snacks; I'm not even in the fridge or rustling anything! I'm just stood here, just existing, and she's yelling.![]()
