I really need some advice. I have 2 girls. Since i got them (8 months ago) they've been in a cage in our house. However the cage is outside my room and i've become allergic. My allergies started in February when they must have been shedding? but they're really bad now. I constantly need my inhaler and I am always sneezing.. especially after I clean and feed them. I am scared to move them outside. I live in Ireland where it can be cold and it rains alot so I dont want them to become ill.

If anyone has any advice about putting the piggies outside or even advice about allergies please let me know! I'm desperate.

is it defo the pigs you are allergic and not their hay ? I suffer really badly with dog hair was worried about getting the guinea pigs but they do not bother me - their hay however does make me sneeze a lot when i fill their hay tray up....

It could be! I am coming to the end of my bag of hay and I have bought a different brand this time. I found my allergies were even worse after buying that specific brand so hopefully it eases up! Thank you.

I've jusT joined this forum because of the same thing. We've had ours for exactly a year. My daughter has been using her inhaler and sneezing and swollen red itchy eyes after being away from them for a week. I know it's the piggies cos her skin got red and itchy when she held the piggie up to her face to cuddle. We too live in Ireland, so not the warmest or driest place!
I've just brought the, inside tonight to the garage and they will be there each night now till I research the best hutch for them. She is gutted, but with asthma you can't take any chances once you see you're allergic to either them or the hay!
Good luck with yours!
