My black rodent can't stand or walk

Can i just clarify, in no way was my post meant to suggest any rescues had the same views as me and therefor not willing to re-home to you.

I went off on a tangent and meant to say rescues are busy and may take time to respond, and make their own decisions based on suitable homes for their g-pigs!

x

@ Milhaven - I figured you might be busy. Dunno how you have time to get online with all the rodents you have, must be an endless cycle of mucking out. Ain’t you got a day job? Either that or you must be way rich to pay for all the work you do.

Good to hear you have your own mind. Society seems to be mainly made up of sheep. I’m the one that’s headed away from the flock and don’t care. I ain’t bothered if people think my social skills are lacking, I ain’t entering a personality contest, and I know when people say I’m a rubbish rodent owner they’re wrong anyway. I bet if you do decide to hand over a rodent to me you’ll get flack. Would you like to borrow my sh*t shield?

Point proven.

She doesn't need a sh*t sheild, she says I can't have one of hers. Poor Fudge.

Looks like he's gonna stay lonely.

Excuse me? Mind you language SueP this forum is accessed by children too! :aJFBQ00142070108C:

Has milhaven turned you down? Have you tried any other rescues

I am sorry that you have been turned down but that is between yourself and Joanne and should be kept private.

There are other rescues you could try and I generally do hope that you manage to find Fudge a friend which I am sure you will. Just keep looking and make the effort to contact as many rescues as you can even if you have to travel.

Can we please also remember (and I am not sticking up for anyone) that everyone has the right to their own opinion.

My mum is scared of 'rodents' such as hamsters, mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils and degu's etc. The reason she is scared of rats, mice, gerbils and degu's is because she finds their tails 'ugly' and they terrify her. However, I have rodents myself and although my mum still isn't a great fan, she has learned that they are not as bad as she originally thought and she loves their little personality.

My mum now likes my animals especially the guinea pigs and through personal and health reasons, she has taken care of my guinea pigs and other animals when I have needed her to. The longest time was for 4 months.

It is understandable that we as guinea pig lovers are going to be offended by some of Sue's comments especially as this is a guinea pig forum but how many people don't like spiders and other insects? I am sure insect lovers would also be offended to hear that.

Sometimes it is just better to ignore comments rather than raise to the bait!

I totally agree with you Claire, BUT i wouldn't continually go on a insect forum and call insects ugly and wind all of the insect lovers up...... and i wouldn't keep a spider for example and say that spiders are ugly.

I dont see a purpose for this thread anymore, the black rodent is at peace now, i think the thread should be closed before it ends up in another heated debate.

Yes, I agree that was is being said isn't right for a guinea pig forum, just stating how I felt :)

This thread is going round in circles and Rumball is at peace.

Sleep peacefully Rumball xx

Have I mentioned on here how much I like toads? In my eyes they’re beautiful. Lots of things are ugly to some people and beautiful to others. I mean these bald rodents with super large balls that I was playing with the other day are pretty darn ugly. But at the same time they’re mega cool!

& people have said that I look pretty ugly in this pic.

I guess everyone has different opinions and should be entitled to them though.

Any rate….

I’m sure everyone will be cross with me but I’m calling him Walking Wig.

I might let them permanently together now instead of having the divide and letting them spend time together for short periods. Someone told me that each time you introduce them it’s like them meeting all over again and they have to sort out who’s boss each time. Scary thought leaving them for 11 hours when I’m at work though.

Sure do hope there's not a blood bath.

What is your point?

Yes, but there is a time and a place Sue, and its neither the time or the place to come onto a guinea pig forum with lots of loving members saying that some guinea pigs are ugly and that red eyes are horrible. Its a bit like me coming to your house and telling you how horrible it is and how horrible you are, you just dont do it!

That's a lovely photo of you Sue :) I have held a skinny guinea pig before and although they feel a little odd as they are hairless, they are lovely don't you think?

My dad, yes, a grown man is scared of frogs and toads so he would take his hat off to you.

It is up to you what you call your guinea pig but Walking Wig is gorgeous x) Please have a look through this thread on how to introduce your boys properly before leaving them alone together http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?76162-Boars-A-guide-to-successful-companionship and this one too http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?28949-Boars!-Simple-Dominance-Displays-or-Fighting and please make sure you have spent a lot of time watching them and are confident they are good together before leaving them.

Good luck and I hope that you will end up with a happy twosome :)

You might not but I would. People that know me can always count on me for my honesty.

@ Claire – Them skinny rodents sweated on my pants!

I rescued 433 toads, 20 frogs and 4 newts in breeding season this year.

I might not like a lot of people but I sure do like toads.

I shall read them threads. Thanks.

Just a thought but may be you could start a new thread formally introducing Walking Wig? That way, if you have any issues with the bonding or anything, members will be able to offer advise. Not many people are going to see him in this thread.

As you have a long haired piggy you will need to brush his hair everyday and ensure it is matt free.

People who know me also know that I am honest and professional, frankly I really don't care one way or the other whether you think I am a 'meanie' or suggest I am not very nice, I had genuine and valid reasons for not rehoming to you at this time (which I do not need to make public here) and would appreciate an end to the unpleasant emails and private messages now please.

& people who know me are gobsmacked that a rescue wouldn’t give me a rodent, it’s annoying being judged by someone you haven’t even met isn’t it?

Any offensive private messages can you forward on to me please.

Closing this thread as I think what's needed to be said has been said.
