I should be sleeping, but I just can't. There is snow forecast for tomorrow and I'm worried we won't get there as I need to rely on the trains :(.

Please everyone think of my gorgeous boy, he has been losing weight and struggling to eat. Here's hoping the vet can make him all better tomorrow. :)

This is Fred eating his Pepper, he's my beautiful boy he was the first piggy to capture me as his Slave x).

Fred and his Pepper.. Pay close attention to the pepper.

Thankfully he is still well in himself, although he is struggling. Once again it's all down to weighing my pig if I hadn't noticed the weightloss I wouldn't have been looking out for further problems. I can't stress the importance of weighing and monitoring your pig.

Oh poor Fred, I really hope you are able to get him to the vets ok and that they can work out what's wrong.

Oh Joanne I hope Fred will be ok. He's looking very determind with that pepper so that's a good thing.
I shall keep my fingers crossed it won't snow and that Fred is ok.
Hugs x

Oh no! I will be thinking of you both tomorrow. Ive seen conflicting reports about the weather here tomorrow. Its fairly mild at the moment so even if we get snow I dont think it will lie. My heart sank when I saw this thread. Please get better Fred. Hugs to you Joanne........

Fred is so cuuuuute I will be praying for you and Fred. I know how hard it is when a baby is sick. Heres to both of you. Good luck tomarrow.

Thanks everyone for the Healing wheeks, I can't sleep atall gave up on that idea to much in my head currently sitting with Fred well he has breakfast cut it up nice and small to help him to eat it. He is so gorgeous, thankfully no snow yet long may it continue *Everything crossed for the trains*.

I have every faith that my vet will get Fred better! xx

I think I left my sanity at home, there's plenty of snow but I decided just to go! It's going good so far almost there :) x

Hope everything goes ok for you both.

We have to take out little Tufty, to see the vet today also.

Not sure how to transport her there yet, lucky its only a short trip in the car.

Good luck for today Fred, I hope the weather doesn't stop you getting to the vet, so he can make you better. x

Fred is in at the vets, getting his dental. I got to see how it's done and everything! Ah, its amazing! X

HEALING LOVES AND WHEEEEEEEEEEEKS FOR DEAR FRED XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

OMG poor little man, yes you could see he was bl**dy determined but obviously his toofies are restricting him :( Whee all hope his dental fixes the problem.........ask too about maybe if he's got a spur or if his tongue might now have a little ulcer :{ (just a thought, from past experiences)

HUGE HUGS for you too love, i know how much you just adore this little guy XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Unfortunately I was a bit quick on posting my above post. The vet showed me how they open the mouth, towel wrap and see inside. Which Fred allowed us to do.

He got took in the back to do his teeth but unfortunately Fred was just to much, which I did suspect because although most pigs freeze, Fred is very much a flight pig, rather than be eating he runs. The vet tried numerous times but Fred was getting far to distressed so we decided enough was enough it just wasn't fair.

My vet has a lot of experience doing conscious dental and he said he is the third pig that he has had to just say enough is enough.

I know he does the most flighty pigs, but from what he told me Fred did not react well. He will need to be sedated and is booked in Monday.

Thankfully he only has spikes on his molars, so it shouldn't be an ongoing issue.

I know people's opinions on GA but I trust my vet completely and I would rather not terrify Fred. X

Aww poor Fred. I know your vet will take the very best care of him on Monday and that he wouldve done it without sedation if he could - he is a great vet - there's no point in causing too much stress to Fred.
xx

Its good that your vet tried to do the work without anaesthetic, but as you say, some piggies just struggle too much. Wishing Fred all the best for his treatment. Ive been glued here all morning waiting for an update. When I awoke this morning the first thing I thought of was Fred. Your vet certainly sounds as though he knows his stuff and Fred is in most capable hands.

We both know how good Glen is and I have no doubt in my mind, that he did his very best.

We know he does Toffee reguarly without GA. I must admit I loved seeing how they actually done it and thought it was brilliant that he showed me the proper way to check there teeth(the way vets do it)!

He said Fred's teeth aren't bad and I noticed very quickly reiterate the fact people should way pigs.

He will be in the very best hands :)!

I must say Alex, I'm so glad I noticed before he got really poorly its great he's so determined to eat takes alot of worry off my mind. Although he doesn't finish his plate of veggies which Wilma I'm sure is delighted about as she gets the leftovers! :))

Just wanted to wish Fred and you all the best.
