I think they read here, mind you I'm sure they would have said something to me for posting about it. you'll only get an email there won't be any personal information included. I got over 50 emails when I advertised and some are still emailing me. They could very well reply and use different names.

Yes. I very sneaky indeed. ;D

And I don't care if they read here. Let them know what we all think of them pow-powpow-pow

Babs what was the girl that you were also considering called? I've got 5 emails, I've read one and she sounds ok.

I've read them all. Somebody gave me a website link. Nothing from any couples yet, but they may know I'm faking if if they have read here .pow-pow

one girl who sounded nice was called Kate, there were a few that were Ok. PM me with any names that sound ok. when they replied to me they sounded ideal. I got tons of nut jobs too.

I am really sorry for your loss and what you've been through.

Reading all through this thread I can't help thinking that this person has put your guinea pigs in with rabbits, a rabbit has attacked your guinea pig and killed it and injured the other one and rather than have to admit she totally cocked up, she's fabricated a story of pregnancy, etc., I would have told that you had vet records of the sexing and called her bluff.

All very convenient about not knowing where he is buried, etc., he will have an idea of the best place to go to bury him, he's not thick. I would also say that your vets have requested the body for a port mortem to find out the cause of death incase it's anything that may affect your other guinea pig.

Good luck with eveything,x

Sorry haven't been on in a bit we were all sick, anyway I rang her and told her that I had vet records that they were both male and she said she could have made a mistake in thinking one was a girl and pregnant, but she said she definitely found the guinea dead in the cage in the birthing position with a hard lump that felt like a baby guinea, I told her I wasn't happy and she still offered me a rabbit which I declined. I got on the the animal cruelty section here and it's doubtful there will be any answers and as I don't have their address they can't find them because they are not registered minders.

Snowy is on the mend, he is in good form, he will allow me to take him up and he has stopped chattering his teeth at me, he is eating loads and drinking loads and is wheeking away, I am still unsure about getting him a friend, I'll wait and see. He was treated for an extreme case of mite and has to go back for a 2nd treatment next week.

if this person is a breeder-can you not report your suspicions to the RSPCA so at the very least they have her logged, just in case it may help future complaints? I know its too late for your case sadly, but it makes me so mad that this has happened. I would be livid if that happened to my pigs. has she even offered to reimburse the vet fees for the lice treatment?

Hi
I am so sorry having caught up with this thread and read it through what a dreadful stutaion.

I feel for your and your guinea for the loss you have suffered.

To report to the rspca you would need and address the only way I can see of getting one is to contact a local rescue let them know the story and see if anyone would take in the baby rabbit if you were to collect it? A member of the rescue could come with you as a 'friend' for support so the situation and conditions there can be assessed and a name address and number would be available to the rspca if you wanted to act further. ( I now this is not a standard thing to do but they may help most are very interested when such cases appear in their area)

The mites may have caused him to scratch himself but that does not excuse the holiday sitters for not getting hi treated if a problem occured whilst he was in their care. If he went to a vets to see if he was pregnant surely the vet would have noticed a mite problem? Did they give you any proof they had taken him to the vets at all?

Don't know if any of your local rescues would help but if this was a case in our area I certainly would!

I am so so sorry to hear of this happening and wish you and your family a swift return to health. Big Wheeks to Snowy too x

No they just offered us a rabbit, it's more answers that I want, the money I will get over, the truth would mean so much more.

I don't know if it would be worth keeping an eye out on things such as gumtree etc, as if this person is a breeder-they are likely to advertise somewhere. Echoing what everyone seems to have said about this thread-nothing rings true, male / female? pregnant? not returning the living pig? forgetting where the other poor one was buried? c,mon?! Have been thinking about you all day since I read this thread. sending lots of hugs x x

They never brought either of them to a vet. The living guinea pig is the one with the mite, I have gotten him treated and he is doing well. I rang DSPCA and they said they couldn't help, they were looking for facts and proof and not just guess work, when I told them I didn't have the address they more or less told me to forget it. that's a good idea about the rabbit and bringing someone with me, I Might give that a try. The nearest rescue to me is 2 towns away, I am in the Countryside so not much around me.

So happy to hear little Snowy is on the mend xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>
I think you've all been thru enough........i hope you can resolve this issue for your sakes and future piggies or buns.......

I still say and it was a saying of my mums and my nan's.........what comes around goes around........one day they'll get their comeupence mallethead
and i hope it's in blurry bucket fulls!!

I am so sorry that you have been getting only snippets and glimpses of the truth, and can't even be sure of that!

I am so glad that Snowy is better; sometimes, mites can come up quite quickly..., so he could have got himself infected there, depending on the time he's spent with on the farm.

Please give him a big cuddle from me!

This is just a thought, but have you tried google-ing the telephone number? its just if they have advertised on any other site and put their number on it should flag up (i know its a bit of a longshot) but you might be able to get an address or name that way xx

I've just read through this and I am so sorry for your loss. It must have been such a shock when you came home to the news. I wish you luck in getting your answers from these horrible people.

I'm sending healing vibes to your remaining piggie hope he's feeling better soon! xx
