My skinny pig is causing bleeding when he’s scratching himself

I think Wiebke said once that when you put on the Xeno (or whatever it is you're using) it causes the mites to writhe around (or something like that) and it makes the itchy feeling worse whilst they are dying off.
Thank you for that ….hes seems more settled and no new red scratches today !

Thank you for thinking of Freddy
Today has been a turning point ( 1 week and 1 day after initial dose) and neither piggy have been scratching
I was out this afternoon but I’ll observe them this eve 🤞

Thank you everyone for your help, love and support 🥰

Ah thank you for asking @Viennese Furbabies
He has the odd scratch and yesterday he caused a scratch to bleed - it’s odd as it seems to happen overnight
I’ve checked to make sure it’s not Geoff being aggressive but he isnt
I think I’ve sorted the fly mites as he and Geoff don’t scratch as they were at the very beginning
It’s health check day so I’ll have a much closer look later
I had to put that off by a few days due to my cold !
( we won’t tell miss Bramble 😂)

Dear @Roselina

We don't like Health Check day. It's a necessary evil. Slave tells us it's to make sure we are well and don't have to go and see the Nasty Vet Man. As we are well looked after, we don't need to go to see the Nasty Vet Man very often. When I had a hayseed up my nose a while ago, my Slave told me that if I didn't let her get it all out, I would have to see the Nasty Vet Man, so I was a good girl and let her get all of the tickly hay seed from my nose.

Geoff and Freddy won't mind if Health Check day is delayed by a few days as they'll see it as a necessary evil to be endured. It still needs to be done though, as it's an important part of being looked after even though it's not very pleasant to be poked and prodded.

Your piggies friend in a crisis

Freddy and Geoff had their last treatment yesterday - the Naqua has worked well for the haymites
Neither are scratching and Freddy’s skin is back to normal.
I don’t think the Naqua is strong enough to kill lice or other mites so always get a diagnosis with your Vet who can prescribe other stronger alternatives.

I’m pleased my boys are back to normal ❤️❤️
