Hello i have a male guinea pig that has attempted to be bonded with 6 other males already and at this point am looking at possibly neutering him and bonding him with females. Can anyone give general advice or information about this process? Is it worth it or should it even be done at all? Survival rates after anesthesia? Any sort of advice or information is appreciated!

Couldn't you have two cages with each boy as a neighbor?

I hear survival rate for neutering is good. Several members have neutered boars on here.

I have had 3 boars neutered and apart from 1 blip all has gone well.
If you go down the neutering route it’s important to have confidence in your vet.
You will also need to wait 6 weeks for him to be safe before bonding him with females.
From personal experience try groups have been very happy together.
My sows have been very good at putting the boar in his place if he became over enthusiastic.
As with bonding with boars, it does come down to character compatibility

I've lost count of the number of boars I've had neutered. I lost one. In retrospect it was preventable, because I had the OP done when Robbie was still weakened after a bout of mites.

In Germany it's normal to get boars neutered. Some are then compatible with fellow neutered boars and some are compatible only with sows. Most (all?) rescues in Germany get their boars neutered before rehoming. I have heard that neutering ops in Germany are cheaper than elsewhere, still I would definitely give your little guy the chance of a life with sows.
