If it is any consolation, my Minx was the same after her bladder stone op! mallethead

At least you know that your boy is doing as fine as they get, if I can offer that scant bit of consolation amongst your feelings of exasperation - it can be every bit as bad as keeping a four year old child in bed...

Haha! I guess, i just dont know how I'm going to cope for another fourteen days...@) :))

I dont know how to keep him calm and settled the vet told me to refrain him from jumping up on things, but honestly Percy is not a average guinea pig (really hes a kangaroo {:|) hes always ontop of something.....this is going to be a fun filled few weeks! :))

Sad Day today for me and Percy-Roo :(

I noticed yesterday that Percy-Roo smelt 'funny' when I was snuggling him, and when I turned up over I noticed a small lump on his left testicle. Anyways today when I woke up his lump was a little larger, swollen and a purple ring had formed. The vet booked me in for an emergency appointment at 11.30 and examined him.

He's the first guinea pig they've had that is allergic to the internal stitching, and the vet told me this is rare case. So he's on a weeks course of baytril. I'll take a photograph of his lump later and upload it on here incase anyone in the future has the same problem.

Percy-Roos back to the vets next week for a check up, apart from that he's putting on weight, popcorning and eating/drinking healthy. :)

Oooo! And I must add, I want to say a very big thank you to the member who suggested ribenna juice in the syringe. Percy-Roo took his meds without a hitch this morning and just now in the evening. :)

Just to update if anyones following :)

I think the medicines taking its toll of poor Percy-Roo he's very quiet today, hardly moved from his little beach hut, just slept mostly. However he has been eating hay, pooping and drinking. Poor little mite, giving him plenty of huggles to get him through I feel terrible at the moment for taking the decision to neuter him :( Hopefully he'll perk up by tomorrow.

Laura x

Sorry Percy Roo is feeling so rough post op - hope he gets stronger tomorrow. Eating and poohing sounds encouraging so hopefully his body will start to sort itself out soon:) Lots of luck because it must be so worrying for you:(

Just remind him of the fun he can have (well, maybe not...) when he gets his ladies!

I popped Maise in last night to say hello to him through the bars, that cheered him up a little :) Bless! I'll need to get started on his wedding.....:))

Hope the little fella is feeling better, he's probably ust trying to make you feel bad, either that or he is being a typical mean feeling sorry for himself he he.

healing vibes for him, xx

Percy-Roo says thank quooo for the well wishes x

How is Percy doing today?

He's up and munching still a little sleepy, and his back ends still swollen though the vet did say it'll take a while for the swelling to go down :)

Hhaha! I think he is feeling sorry for himself, he wouldnt eat a whole carrot today so i had to break it down into little chunks and hand fed it to him....then he ate quite happily!rolleyes

Typical male, not only do you have the prepare the food you have to feed them too! tut tut, only joking percy roo!

Hahaha! He's liking all the fuss and attentions he's getting, yesterday he was placed in his own 'high chair' (it was an old side table with the top missing and he was sitting in the draw part) in the kitchen, so whilst we were preparing dinner he was quite happy sat there being fed veggies whenever anyone walked by. rolleyes we don't spoil him honest! :))

Ha Ha i used to do this with mine when we only had 2, each night i would take it in turns as to who "helped" mummy prepare the veggies, by just sitting on the work top pinching the food i was trying to put in their bowl lol! one night lilly, the next honey, then lilly again, they loved it, thinking they had the upper hand over the other.
