Glad to hear all has gone well. The boy will be back and demanding his tea again in no time.
Hes back and still as a rock, not eating. But the nurae has been syringe feeding him. So il see how he goes before i start doing it too

Hes gone shy now and stays in his hidey house. Until i have gone out. I come back and i know he has been out. I cant blame him much, If i walked out my front door and lost my gonads, i wouldnt go out again any time soon
When Theo went back to the vets for his post-op check up he was very wary, like what are they going to cut off this time?!

Burnies back to his normal self! My wife got him out for lap time. He sat there still for ages then after a while he climbed up and gave her a kiss. As if to say ok you are forgiven.

Then he had floor time and was zooming around everywhere

Pretty much my last post for this thread. Burnie had his one week check up from his neuter and is absolutely fine. Thanks for everybodys support, thanks to my vets too lol and nurses. Next thread will be burnie and dot bonding. 5 weeks to go

Those 5 weeks will really drag but it will be totally worth it! Does Burnie live next door to Dot? Hope it's a great big love affair!

Yea he does. Shes seems.more bothered about being with him.than he is with her. But no aggression has yet been shown
Even on split floor time
With a fence between

I think that's a good dynamic as ladies are quite choosy but boys tend to be more like, "Its a lady! Awesome. Rumblestrut rumblestrut. Now where's the snacks." :)

Thats good then. When i got them out together ages ago ( i now know how risky this was and havnt since ) burnie would dominate everything for most of the floor time. The hideys he kicked dot out of and took over the hay trays. But she didnt try and challenge him atall, and she would follow wherever he walked. Then after about an hour they were sharing a hay cookie at peace. I'm hoping that was a bond. And it will happen again when i go to bond them properly

I realised now that an intact boar with dot was a stupid idea and playdates are not good for them.

All the best! Try to switch them or their stuff around before cage cleaning. You will find that rather interesting!
I already keep switching their log bridges over. They sniff and nibble at them when i do that, i really wish i could get to the bottom of dot eating less hay, on limited nuggets now ( 1 tbl spoon) and is maintaining her weight. I can see in the mornings that her hay pile hasnt been touched

A bit late to the party, but Hovis was neutered, the vet chose to use dissolvable stitches, all went well, and had no problems healing

Why don’t you scatter a few nuggets into the hay! It really encourages foraging.

Never thought of this! Thankyou!
She will scoff the readigrass blue bag hay. Oat hay its called. But I'm told its not very good for everyday. I was amazed by her sense of smell earlier on. I had cucumber ready for her in my bedroom, i got her out from the living room, and as soon as she come in she was looking for it
