Great that you are giving this poor mite a chance.

Please be aware that it takes on average 24 hours for any food to work its way through the digestive system so any poos are running 1-2 days behind the actual food intake.

Please continue with support feeding until weight and poo output have stabilised and are on the way up. The healing process takes on average about 2-3 days to kick in fully. Has she got painkillers to help her during the initial post-op stages?

Yes mixed with anti inflammatory. Its honey flavor. She doesnt like that flavor but that too bad for her... Also if anything shes a little over weight. I am guilty of giving too many pellets.... 😅 All things I'm sure working in her favor right now. She'll need the energy to heal. Takes a lot of calories. I hope her "last meal" doesnt give her the runs tho. Was like a raspberry 3 blue berries pellets and it was parsley not cilantro. She devoured all of it plus they gave her lettuce and herbs and hay over night on her stay.

she is doing much better but her poops have been REALLY long. like double the normal length... this is from today. outside of that normal width... I'm assuming due to the surgery. she has an appointment with the vet this sunday. if it doesn't go away by then i'll bring it up.

if she makes it past monday I'm reposting this story in the health or emergency tab under a better more easily searchable title just so people can know they're little piggy has a chance! it will also accompany pictures (some graphic i'll look up how to block them from regular view with a spoiler tag or something) and EVERYTHING that i did. pro's and cons. like the vet even said they weren't extremely experienced with guinea pigs but they did treat them. I'm starting to think the price drop was that much because she wanted the experience... took it out of her own pocket to be better suited to treat other animals as well as not wanting to put it down if it could be prevented... but i'll try and make it as easily searchable and with as much hope as possible. because i had all but written her off when i saw that.... even the vet made a face and didn't have great options to begin with till she confired with a college the next morning.

because who knows how many have simply did a search saw 0 survival rate and how much that effected their consideration for the price of the operation! i know it effected mine. but i thought a weeks pay for a wheek of extra life (put intended) at the best outcome i saw. worth the gamble.... the price was too good to pass up. besides the vets gotta make money and needs patients to be able to get practice on.... Caramilk seems to be doing good. walking around and eating still. even standing up on the cage to get treats. still a little slow but she is on pain killers (I would be too). needless to say they're getting coffee and donuts for the whole office on sunday when we go for her follow up appointment.
