Some of you may have seen from previous threads that I have been in contact with Jenny from Crawley GP rescue. I'd given her links to my videos on here of my attempts to bond Finley with the girls and after watching them she feels that we could still get it to work.

She has ever so kindly offered to come to my flat and help with the bonding! So we're setting a date and then giving it a go again, I might have a stiff drink before hand to calm my nerves, haha :))

So i'm back to telling Mable to behave herself and giving Finley hope that she may actually start to like him rolleyes he definitely seems to be missing sniffing them through the bars now that he's on the top layer of the C&C, and earlier they went into a wheeking frenzy so they are communicating with each other and the girls know there is still another pig around!

Please send your bonding vibes as i'd really like it if they could become a bonded trio! It will be comforting to know that I have an expert there to advise me on what to do next! If after a few hours Jenny thinks that it really isn't going to work then hopefully Finley can go back with her to choose another wifepig. Either way I guess it turns out positive for my little Finley pig, he really is missing the company of other pigs and i know he will be a much happier pig once he has a friend or two.

What a lovely thing for Jenny to do for me and the pigs, piggy people really are lovely. :)

That is wonderful to hear! She really is so kind. I really hope they can be bonded but if not then it just was not meant to be and he can have a new friend. I wish you the best of luck. :)

I'm another Jenny fan - she is lovely. I met her last weekend, and currently have one of her boys, Bobby, who I am trying to bond with my Little Pig. She is coming to do the home check tomorrow.

Fingers crossed things work out with the bonding - I'm trying to get the boys to play nice right now so know how tricky it can be!

I know, it is such a lovely offer. I've asked her if the rescue has a wish list so i can say thank you that way. Aww, i remember reading about this! How is it going with the bonding?

That is really kind of Jenny to do this for you. Fingers crossed all goes well with your current set up but at least you'll know for sure x

(Good luck to Little Pig and Bobby too!x )

Mabel, be nice! You know you would love to snuggle up to a lovely fluffy Finley really! :)) :)) :))
Hope it all goes well, Misty sends wheeks and cuddles to all 3! x

I was just updating the thread on Little Pig and Bobby, and it made me think of you and the handsome Finley - how is the bonding process going? When is Jenny coming to visit you?

Good evening! She's coming down on Saturday (as long as nothing urgent comes up!) I haven't tried them together for a good few weeks...i'm going to wait until the expert is around before i attempt it again! Will let you know how it goes! Fingers crossed! It would be lovely seeing them all together but i'm still not sure if Mabel will ever like him - the last few bonding sessions she had all her hackles up and was puffing at him, it was horrible to watch! Then she lunged for him! :...

Good luck for Saturday - how exciting! Has Jenny taught you the dustpan trick yet? So simple, but really helpful. Another thing I have found that helps if the pigs start getting agitated with each other is to just lift hay up and let it fall again (or add another handful). It seems to distract them.

Awww poor finley! Mind you, I had this with my latest pair of boars, i split them for a few days (ffrom tues until the weekend when I would have the time to try bonding them again basically) and so far so good so maybe she could get over it? paws crossed for you!

Oooh thanks for the tips! Haven't discovered the dustpan trick yet - looking forward to it! :))

I really hope so! If not it's not the end of the world though as it means i HAVE to get another pig! :)) Maybe Mabel knows this and she's actually being nice to me :)):))

Jenny is coming tomorrow to help with the bonding xx>>>

I'm off to bake some cakes for her now :)) will let you all know how it goes!

Cake is a very good idea. Jenny loves cake.

Will be thinking of you all tomorrow. Will keep everything crossed that it all works out. x

Oooh good good! :)) They're in the oven as we speak! Will ice them tomorrow!
Thank yoooou, i don't have any expectations but like i said it can only be positive because little Finley will find himself a friend if Mabel is horrible to him again!

Ooooo hope everything goes well tomorrow, and hope Finley, Dottie and Mabel all behave politely! :))

Hello everyone!

Well today was great! Jenny is a wealth of knowledge and made me feel at ease with the bonding! She thinks it could definitely work. Mabel was much better today, there was only minimal teeth chattering from her (and this was only ever now and again) and Jenny taught me a very good trick using a dustpan to keep it all calm :))! Finley was a very well behaved boy, he is still a little bit nervous of the girls but he's so polite around them x) he was popcorning all over the place and making Jenny laugh :))

So he's still here with me and I feel confident in continuing with the bonding now that it looks promising. It will be a slow process but lets hope it all works out. Mabel certainly started to relax a bit more and they were all together for a good few hours. Eventually they all tired themselves out and fell asleep just a few inches apart with many chicken legs on display! (This was also partly due to it being so hot i'm sure!)

Thank you so much to Jenny for your time - it wasn't an easy journey down here! If I have any choice i'd like to send my secret santa prezzies to Crawley GP rescue this christmas xx>>>

I'm so pleased that it went well and things look promising. Jenny is a whizz with the dustpan, lol. :(|)
