Haha, Finley has only just started with the chicken legs! They must all know how much i adore them, good piggies! Mabel is naughty shaking the bars of the run, but luckily Fin and Dottie took no notice! I loved how it was only a 2 minute video but so much happened in that short space of time! rolleyes

Well tonight has been even better! Absolutely no teeth chattering and i didn't need the dust pan at all! In fact i felt happy to quickly run to the toilet and leave them for a few minutes!

Mabel has been approaching Finley lots, and Dottie and Fin have been grooming each other. They have all been in much closer proximity (as you can see from the pics) and have enjoyed sharing some yummy veggies and hay together. I've been giving them their evening veggies whilst bonding so they associate each other with good things!

Here are some pigtures...Jenny will be really pleased to see this, hope she comes on soon!

Lastly, Dottie being the cute pig that she is, barged open the run and hopped on my lap for some cuddles with a full tummy of hay and veggies, she was like a tiger lying on a tree branch with her leg hanging down drool!

I am so pleased Jenny encouraged me to give it another go as this is now looking very promising!

Certainly looks like they are getting on better and calm has descended. Well done for keeping going with the bonding. Will look forward to hearing when they are in their new C&C set up in the sitting room.

Dustpan trick, when you introduce all piggies in a neutral area if things kick off and there is too much teeth chattering if you put a dustpan inbetween the two that are arguing it acts as a distraction.

Quick update!

I have been continuing with the bonding and it is still going very well! Tonight I took the next step of putting beds/tunnels etc in the pen with them all. It's amazing how much of a difference this made as instantly Fin and Mabel wanted to claim them all as theirs! The squealing kicked back up and there was lots of action, but luckily no teeth chattering/signs of aggression - phew! It all calmed down and Fin and Mabel were in a tunnel together at one point (i think it was more tolerating each other though because neither would budge rather than them cuddling up!) rolleyes

I'll continue like this now for a while and if all stays as it is I will be working out the ramp and seriously considering the final move into the C&C (eeeeek!) That will be the most scariest part!

Thank you! It has been a lot of work, and a lot of clearing up! They seem to create such a mess where ever they are, and they do take over the flat during bonding time but it is worth every little bit of time! It's certainly looking very positive, all the behaviour that I have seen (at the worst points) is completely normal so i'm really pleased I stuck with it. I no longer feel nervous when I put them together and I can get on with other jobs as I don't feel that they need constant supervision any more, so it does make it a lot easier!

Dottie is such a sweetheart, she's such a lovely calm friendly piggy! Although saying that she will not tolerate Fins attempts to hump her and she does tell him off when he tries it on! I think Fin is totally under the girls paws, they boss him around he got so excited tonight and launched himself off the ground in the most almighty popcorn i've seen him do to date, he just wants some friends! But both Mable and Dottie seem to be telling him to calm down, which he does for a few minutes until he realises he is in the company of girls again and then off he goes rumbling and popcorning crashing into the bars, he's so funny to watch

Another update!

So the bonding has been going on for a few weeks now, I progressed them to the next stage which was putting cosies into the bonding pen (see above) and everything has been going well.

I cleaned out Fins top section of the C&C tonight and thought we were ready for the next stage of putting them in together! I decided to keep it just to the top part as it is easy for me to get in with the dustpan should I need it! So far they have been in there for almost an hour with no issues! They have fiddle sticks and cosies in there too! Fin is so overjoyed bless him, he's still popcorning all over the cage (the biggest ones i've ever seen!) which is unsettling the girls as they aren't sure what he's doing and it must seem like he's launching himself at them

I'm going to leave them until I go to bed (a good four hours) and if there is no problems I think i'll leave them be! I've got enough grids to make a ramp over the weekend and will connect the top level to the bottom. I hope i'm not speaking too soon but i think we've cracked it! xx>>> They are going to have so much room once the levels are connected too which makes me really happy! I'll be able to have a sleeping area and a huge hay area xx>>>

I know it's still early days and they could get fed up with each other but there has been no problems for days now, it is so lovely to see them altogether!

aww that's so fantastic1 and just goes to show that with a few tips and patience, bonding can happen, it doesn't always happen in a few hours or a few days but with perserverance it can be done! oooh bet finley must have been wooing them with his good looks!
