I hope everyone who is feeling grotty gets well soon. I'm feeling a bit off myself tonight, really hoping I haven't caught something on the packed standing room only if you are a sardine train on Friday.

I had covid in November. Still coughing now. I went to the doctors last week just to make sure I didn’t have a chest infection (nope) as I’m having a major op in two weeks and didn’t want them cancelling it because of my cough.

This is the first sober new years where I'm not syringe feeding a piggy, and unfortunately I have some sort of sickness bug 🙃 luckily as it started last night, I'm at the tail end of it now I think, but I've cleaned the piggies out and trying to keep myself fed and hydrated. No doubt at midnight I'll be handing out medications, although I might pause to watch the fireworks on the TV.

I am fighting to stay awake though, so Happy new year in case I'm asleep by the time it rolls around 😂
 
Hope everyone stays safe, warm and quiet, thanks for the healing wheeks for poor old Lavender!
Torrential rain here so hopefully few fireworks, Lavender is a nervous piggy anyway and nervous cystitis has probably conributed to her stones, plus she picks up on me being nervous... luckily piggy daddy is a super chilled syringe feeding ace, she just took 5mls emeraid (mixed with apple and mango juice, she has a sweet tooth and she's had a miserable day) and she looks a bit perkier, and is now getting many kisses from her friends due to the emeraid-mango whiskers!
So finally a festive veggie wellington dinner for us and we can have a drink without factoring in an emergency vet trip. Then it's radio 4 podcasts for entertainment here, another syringe feed about 11 plus more metacam and fibreplex, and if she seems ok maybe we can be asleep by midnight as usual!

Wishing everyone a Happy New year, hoping everyone feels better soon, I am coming out of the other side of a nasty cold, thought I might not get everything done for Christmas but with drugs and rest I managed to get through, even took a COVID test as I felt so awful, negative thankfully, so many bugs around again.
Hoping to start the year well and stay well until I can have my sinus surgery done.

Just popped on to wish everyone a happy New Year. Hope you have all had a great Christmas. We are just chilling at home as we have 8 people here for lunch tomorrow.

Unfortunately, we have had 2 vet visits this week, poor Milo has a scabby patch on his back. The vet doesn't think it's fungal so we have ABs and Flamazine cream. He probably also has arthritis, so Metacam prescribed for that too. Then Rosie got a seed head stuck in her eye the following day. The Isathal and Remend seem to be working, it looks old a lot better today.

I'm really hoping that 2024 is a better for our piggies after 5 losses this year.😢
 
ARRGH - Hub is playing around with his new tv gadget and has discovered model railway videos to watch on tv and how they are engineered IN THE LOUNGE... :zzz::zzz::zzz:

My nephew would love that. He loves anything to do with trains and is a train spotter.
 
Hello everyone, I've been spending the evening watching 'A Christmas Carol' - the Patrick Stewart version, which I love, eating sausage rolls and exchanging New Year messages with friends. I'm glad this year's over, it's been quite stressful for me and I'm looking forward to a fresh start in 2024. I was planning to stay up to midnight and watch the fireworks on TV but I feel very tired and I'm not sure I'll make it. I really feel I ought to stay with Toffee in case there's a lot of firework noise and he's scared especially now he's on his own. In the past he and Biscuit used to snuggle up together when there were fireworks - the only time they ever shared a hidey. There's been a bit of noise round here but it hasn't been too bad so far.

The family next door have got a dog and I think they've gone out and left her home alone - she's been barking and howling for the last couple of hours, which is worrying me. Poor girl.

Sorry to hear so many people and piggies are unwell, hope you all get better quickly.

Actually, need to go and cuddle my piggies in his model railway den...
 
Had a roast dinner earlier, now have panettone and Christmas sweets for munching. Dignified Sir George has had his medicine and a green bean peace offering.
Hubby and I have been watching reruns of Dexter and are on the last few episodes. Getting a glass of port or two in a minute.
Happy new year to all hoomans piggies and other animals.
