Noodles' ovarian cysts, don't look if squeamish!

another quick question...(sorry)
did noodles or whiskey get funny looking nipples... almost like dry skin...?
i have had her hair loss and funny nipples looked at by the vet who couldnt fathom it out.... not my normal vet though... and she didnt check her tummy becuase she wasnt bloated at this point in time...
heres a pic... so you can see what i mean... becuase I'm awful at explaining things...!

Whiskey had crusty nips yes, forgot that one, your girly definitely has the cysty signs I am afraid Claire, obviously not being a vet I cannot diagnose properly but I would strongly suggest getting a second opinion. With her that sort of shape a vet who knows what they are looking for should be able to feel the cysts if they are of any size.

If you fancy a trip down south you could come and see mine but she is a way from you xx
 
I've just got caught up with this thread after being away over night. How is Noodles doing? Sounds like she's being a monkey :))

Clare, it does look like something hormonal is going on with your girl, and unfortunately the common answer would be cysts! I'd def. recommend a check up with a good piggy vet :(
 
Thanks bab.... Was just wondering if your girlie was showing the same signs really... I have phoned round several vets today and have finally found a vet who has experience in treating ovarian cysts....

I didn't know Noodles was having a big operation, hope she is up and better asap.

them's some BIG cysts! my pig is currently seeing a vet with suspected cysts and I have a question if you don't mind... was your Noodle's abdomen visibly swollen and large at all?
 
Thank you for this post I'm taking mine for a health check on Tuesday morning! I'm giving her soft foods for the moment! X bit worried about my little one Honey x

Oh my goodness, those are huge, she must feel alot better for having those removed even though she is not fully recovered yet. Healing vibes for Noodle, she will be a new sow when she has recovered.x>>
