yes sounds like an abcess like boys mum I have dealt with loads of these, funnily enough they tend to grow there one of my girls had a piece of wood she had chewed from her old run and it was that that had caused her abcess it was inside the abcees when the vet operated on her , I too had to syringe the wound out but this is not always the case some of mine have had them stitched others glued together, depends on the vet and the wound, I use hibiscrub to syringe the wound out as its antibacterial so helps with the anti biotics to kill bugs and infection, some come back but I havw never lost a pig to an abcess, be warned though some of the wounds are hugh domino had an abcees on his cheek but the vet had to cut right over is shoulder over his back to get to it as it was so deep, he healed really well despite the size of the wound, good luck and get it sorted very quickly mine have not had problems eating after their ops but you might well need cc and def probiotics with the use of anti biotics ask for fiberplex a carrot flavour paste probiotic
