I am trying to see what an appropriate weight is for my pig. He is two years old and full grown at 1043grams. I have him weighed at the vet office every time he gets a nail trim (every other month). His weight slight spiked this last trim and I'm worried about his health. I may be giving him too many pellets a day. I started to cut back but he his very angry about it. He has squeaked and flipped over his bowl to show his disapproval. I'm afraid I'm starving him but I'm limiting his pellets to 1/8 cup a day. He gets unlimited hay and veggies. In addition, his cage is 2 meter x 1 meter in dimension. How do I know if a diet is necessary? I read somewhere online that I should be able to palate his ribs with ease. Is this true? I can feel Simba's ribs but real have to feel around for them. Is he obese?
