I want to get some new toys for my two boys and I really like the look of the ones from Zoe and Lilos toy box however they're pretty expensive and I live in the UK. Does anyone know of any good online stores that are similar to them and are decently priced?

Here are my favorites on Etsy: FuzzysToyShop, TheBestBirdToys, my pigs and bun love the flavored wood blocks from Fun4Bunnies, when I make DIY toys I like SparkParts, the3bunnies, BellaCavy, TheRefinedRat, BlessTheirCottontail has a lot of cute and creative stuff, PetPlazaBoutique, OrganicOatsRabbitry, PiggyPlayYard, Bunderland. I'd really reccommend checking out all of these as they all have differnent stuff.

Etsy has always been my favorite for these kind of supplies-especially while living in Europe and not knowing much and customs problems being the way they are in Italy (always used ebay and Etsy in the UK for that). I would really second Gia for a few more unique choices there. Just be sure to read the reviews as well-there are some adorable guinea pig accessories that may have been made a little less sturdy.

Will try these, thankyou

Great, thanks for the warning

European customs and import is a nightmare. I desperately want a wheel for my rats that’s only made by one guy in the US by his small company who has managed to make them truly silent even over time and use. They are $45 which is no more expensive than other high end wheels that are not as good.
Problem is the shipping to Europe is also $45 which would bring my total to $90! And then also running the risk of import tax on top which almost matches item value in some cases...
If you but something that’s $20 or less you can usually get lucky and slip through the net for import charges, however when you go above that you risk being “worth the effort” to tax so you might get lucky you might not.

I know, there doesn’t seem to be as many options or stores in the UK. The US seem to have endless websites and stores they can buy from.

I am tempted to go for it (love the rats too much and have one group without a wheel right now ) even with the horrific shipping charges, it’s the possibility of import tax that’s stopping me. Would already be paying far too much without that added complication.
That and I can’t stand the idea of buying a locally available brand for 40€+ only to be driven crazy by the noise of yet another sub par wheel.

That’s a hard decision you have there. It may be worth getting the one from the US if its good quality and going to last a long time. But then again the import tax is a big risk and the price you’ll end up paying may not be worth it.

I know, it’s sooo evil that tax.
Unfortunately I don’t know when I will next be in the US with work (which is always an excuse to hit the amazing pet stores over there for random cool stuff) else i’d have arranged to grab it from an office address and popped it in my luggage (only $11 to post it within the US and obviously no import dues). I could wait and see if a colleague is going anytime soon but i’m not sure about asking colleagues I don’t know so well if they could mule for me :lol:

Are you in the UK? Do you mean the TicTac wheels?

Tough one. Your lucky to go over and explore their pet stores :)

No and I mean the velociraptor type R wheels made by www.mygliderwheelsandmore.com Can find reviews on YouTube probably.
“type r” is their specific rat model, it’s also nice that they sell parts too in case you ever need them. The wheels move very very easily and have no resistance which probably assists with the noise reduction.

When I had hammies the wheels made one hell of a racket. I soon fixed it with some vaseline have you tried that @Squeakz?

Honestly I think the European pet stores are way better. Over here, guinea pigs are less popular and everything they have sucks. All the treats are made in China and there no forage we can buy. I watch stuff on YouTube about people going to pet stores in the UK and everything looks so awesome.😫

Ahh ok. I have 2 of the large tictac wheels which are fab and silent. Shame you aren't in the UK I would have sent you one x

Which wheel is it ?

The wheelless group woke me up in the dead of night the last two nights now. Racing around the huge cage and leaping. A full grown male rat can make quite a THUD when jumping down from a high ledge, now imagine a conga line of them all running around and leaping at high speed. The cage contents were thrown everywhere and it sounded like a massive thunderstorm.
I actually had to partition the cage (easy as it has a trapdoor to half it) and divide the mischief for the night to get them to settle down a bit so I could sleep. They were reunited at 4am.

Sounds to me like they were having a partaaaaay!

Yup, they are all guilty of being little terrors sometimes. But look at those faces, who could ever believe me over those innocent expressions?
