Onyx has a UTI

She was just beautiful during the night......... didn't really complain about taking the CC x)

Her weight this morning at 8.15am was 1095g....... i seem to be just maintaining the weight, i just wish she could gain it!

She also seems to be getting sick of eating greeeen spaghetti ....... i suppose if all you are offered is CC, softened oxbow pellets and green spaghetti it must be getting boring :{

She is eating hay but it's so hard to know how much.

She's not crying as much now, but it's horrible to watch her hunch up squeak and then grunt and a poop or a few come out :(
At least she will then look for something else to eat, usually some hay.
 
I feel so sorry for poor little Onyx. I wish the vet could find out why she is hunching up to poop and give her something.

gone backwards again......i stupidly let her have some silverbeet/chard...... i feel an idiot

she doesn't want to eat now, it's a battle to feed the CC and the softened pellets.

1065 this morning, then a feed up to 1080g after doing wee's and slightly soft poops.

Just feel like we're not winning and that she's also loosing some of her pigsonality :...
 
Sending healing vibes to Onyx - they can come back from it Patrick refused to eat for 24 hours I was having to force feed him. We have everything crossed this is a temporary blip!

Huge hugs Glynis - your an excellent slave she's in the best hands. x

down to 1050g now and the feeds are more difficult, she's not wanting to eat much grass at all or her hay.

Continuing with the CC and 60+ oxbow pellets per day, as well as poop soup and metacam.

She's not hunching up as much, but i know her tummy still isn't right.

She also presented me with a wee sample that had cloudy wee and some very tiny grit in it 8...:...

Spoken to Traci this morning, she's getting Brendan to call me back she's also bringing me some more CC as i'm just about out (packet only lasted just on the week!)
 
Thanks love, i have the help of a lovely lady who's asked me a gazillion questions and is trying to nut out what's up.........

Poor little Onyx-pig, she is such a lovely little sweetheart and I am keeping my fingers crossed, and all my piggies are sending healing wheeks for her xxxxx

Glynis, is CC difficult to get hold of over there?

I've recently opened a pack of CC fine grind, and have some of the smaller 36g ordinary sachets I could send over for you?

It's ok i can get it from my vets, i just got some more yesterday :)
My problem with sending anything to OZ is they wont let thru foods etc.. cause of our customs mallethead

Had a conversation with Brendan, my problem is the vets here wont try anything different unless there's a written paper on it :(

Anyways....... got home yesterday and her weight was right down, so CC, pellets, poop soup ..... she was ok taking it all. I then popped outside and grabbed some green spaghetti and washed it......she dived onto it! x)

She did this again at the 9pm feed too. After this feed she went straight up to the food bowl and pinched out a small piece of round green bean and a little bit of red capsicum! i was worried about how this would affect her, so i stayed with her and she was fine.....no adverse reaction! I was just pleased to see she actually wanted to go near the food bowl........every other time she's looked and then walked away as tho it held something disgusting in it!

Her weight when i left today was 1090 i'm hoping she'll nibble on some hay during the day so she's not lost too much when i get home for the 4pm feed.

since finding the little bits of grit yesterday i've not found anymore in her urine........
i now catch all her wee's (the ones after her feeds and any others i can manage) and put my fingers in it to feel if there's any grit (gross it may seem but at least i'll know what's happening with my baby!)

buying the pearl barley today and going to make some Patrick juice up :) (to me it'll always be known as Patrick juice x)) she's excellent taking water so am hoping she'll be ok with the P juice too.
 
Just caught up with this thread, haven't been able to get on forum much over past 4 days or so. Really pleased to read she's doing ok this morning..

She managed to eat some tiny bits of hay today, hand fed of course.
Her weight tho is 1045g (this is now 120g less than her normal weight) and she doesn't seem to eat or anything whilst i'm at work :...
I just feel if i could get her interested in food it might help. Also concerned that the longer she goes without eating hard foods her toofies will grow over :(

No more signs of anything in urine at the moment......
Velvet is lovely with her, if i grab Onyx and she wheeeeks Velvet will rush out to see (well smell for her) what is going on, i then have to reassure her :)
 
Every day am i anxious to log on and catch up with this thread. So glad Onyx is a little interest in food . Thinking of you x>>

Onyx is at the vets now (10am OZ time) awaiting an xray :...

I just hope he can find what is causing my beautiful girl to be in so much pain and not eating.......she's now 1035g

I just want my little girl who would do 'standing piggie' standing up on her little hind legs and begging for her brekkie, the girl who popcorns when you sing out her name, my baby who snuggles and then says....that's enough after 1minute!


EDIT: forgot to say i'm giving her Patrick juice which she is fairly interested in :)
