:( Was just watching him eating some cucumber and noticed a patch in the corner of the cage, so i have been on watch to see who it is, its Oscar.

Ive just rung the emergency vets and they said to try and syringe him water as he doesnt drink much and to eat cucumber or something wet, but hes been so naughty at the moment and keeps running off grr

will ring first thing to make an appointment, keep you posted

:( just saw the pic on facebook, where is it coming from? What a worry! x

i think hes peeing it, just found it tonight, no evidence at all prior. Hes eating, pooping and is lively.

I've had this happen twice with piggies - quite fresh blood and evidence of blood in the urine. Both times, it was an infection that cleared up with a prescription of Septrin. Maybe replace some of the newspaper with white copy paper and watch when he wees next time. It's very alarming, but easily treatable. Just get the wee fella to the vets tomorrow. Good luck!

Let us know how the vets goes. Blood is such a shock when you see it. Love to Oscar x

oh poor thing, sounds like hopefully it can be sorted. Good luck to the little man x

hes peed on a pale towel, i havent got a white one. What would it be if not urine blood? and sorry to sound dim, would it come from the same hole?

Ive got him in at 5.30 tonight.

Oh I am sure he will be fine until you have to take him to the vets. It may even be a one off and nothing to worry about.

Oh gosh, poor Oscar.

I'm inclined to agree with Flintstones - I've had two piggies with blood in their urine and it was never as noticeable as that. It was red colour urine, rather than pure blood, which is what it looks like in your pic. But if it's not that then I have no idea what it may be.

Fingers and paws crossed that the vet will have a simple diagnosis and solution for you x

hes on metacam and baytril, took and sample, she couldn't feel anything and he didn't flinch when she poked about, he was so good, hes eating away and playing with stan.

I asked about septrin and she said they would be willing to prescribe it, but they like to try baytril first, but I'm glad I plucked up courage and asked

Lots of healing vibes to Oscar, hope the AB's do the trick and he gets well soon x

Hope Oscar is okay, I would agree that that doesnt look diluted enough to be urine blood but who knows

hes had his meds this morning and his brekkie and he has had a good old rummage round the cage, i cant find any blood in the cage this morning, hope thats a good sign!
