Our piggies

One natures own mini hay cube destroyed in less than a week, by Herman pig.

I had replaced all the contents, and all that was in this cube was Herman’s usual hay- no forage, and an occasional pellet pushed through the holes.

Wally pig, seems ok. Although I am not convinced he’s 100%. Wallys finished the emeprid, and I have trialed a few days without Metacam, but not totally successful. He has a check up appointment at the beginning of April.

Wallys had a few mad zooms & currently lives cardboard house tipping. Which he only does when us humans are home!

I have had a couple of unexpected days off work.
Our boys are not happy, I have disturbed their peace. Most complaints came from nail trims.

Wally is successfully enjoying the newly rebuilt playpen. No major dramas- but most of the bars are covered.

Today I have spring cleaned the pigs main home. AKA destruction day!
Last few bits still drying, and I can finish putting everything back together.
I found numerous fossilised poos. H&H 🌈 would have been proud of Wally & Herman’s attempts to continue the science experiments.

Now the rest of the house needs a serious de-haying. Unfortunately it’s back to work tomorrow.

Wally’s in a mega huff, hiding under his hammock & refusing to come out- even to eat posh hay. ( Which means it’s a mega huff!)

He’s had his vet check up. Nothing untoward found. Although he does appear to now have a minor head tilt.
Through doing our own trials of taking him off Metacam we have discovered he’s happier with pain relief, but what’s causing pain is a mystery. Possibly an Ear infection, but nothing obvious at the moment & his teeth are all ok- no sign of the possibility of an abscess that we were told to keep an eye out for last time.

Vet has agreed with us too keep him on Metacam for now, recheck in 6mths, if nothing changes.

Beautiful boy - get munching Wally 🥰

Wally’s says, thank you everyone.

He’s feeling a little better- after a long nap, & a small pinch of grass, he’s now on the look out for more. (Unfortunately he’s going to have to wait a long time as this is our 2nd attempt at introducing grass this spring.)

“Hi human. Why doesn’t this thing have a grass carpet?!”

Boys are upstairs in their outside run- extra hay everywhere upstairs. Extra dust everywhere downstairs! Courtesy of the helpful but messy work people.

We have planned a cleaning weekend.
