Junior Guinea Pig
has anyone ever bought a piggie from pets at home and discovered that they are pregnant? x
Nar, I swear by my Pets at Home. They even turned down a sale for a £36 product by me last weekend because they felt it was best for my animals not to sell it to me. Basically I bought it then came back to discuss whether it was the right thing.
It was a VetBed, and after discussing with the guy at the till he felt it wasn't best for my piggies (I got the wrong end of the stick from the forums because I didn't read the threads properly) and he told me that he will refund it, saying that the animals welfare always comes before a sale.
They did have a return recently of a 'weirdly shaped' piggie, who turned out to indeed be pregnant. They also pay for any vet costs accumulated over the two weeks AFTER you buy the animal.
They are all very good where I go. But sadly some piggies might get pregnant and sold. It happens everywhere I am sure.

Why was the vetbed no good? I use it for my pigs and so do a lot of people?
i dont get how they come to be pregnant if there in seperated cages it was females on one side and males on the other. I bought a guinea pig from a old style pet shop a week earlier after a week i noticed she looked rounded shes due any day now so she must have been 4-5 weeks pregnant at the time x
I hate to sound negative, but pets at home will be getting a lot more money out of you in the long run if you use wood shavings rather than the one of cost of vet bed that can be washed and re used for a couple of years
whats a vetbed?
No I don't think he had, but I have such huge respect for them considering he talked me out of a sale because he felt it was better for the animal
