Junior Guinea Pig
Peaches
It is with great sadness to report that our beloved Peaches crossed the rainbow bridge a few days ago.
We adopted Peaches and her sister Apple 8 years ago from a friend when they could no longer look after them. From day one both girls captured our hearts and were the first guinea pigs we had as a couple.
Apple sadly passed about four years ago and Peaches mood dropped notably so we got her another cage mate (Twirl). Some months later we expanded the heard with our neutered boar (Archie) and since then Peaches been around to meet another five cage mates in total.
In the middle of all this she underwent major surgery to be spade and some very large cysts removed. Like the trooper she was, she bounced back quickly and soon established herself as the top sow in the heard once again.
In her final years she suffered various ailments such as bladder stones and upper respiratory infections but each time she bounced back just as strong and full of life as ever (we used to call her our boomerang pig)!
In the end she passed peacefully at home with her cage mates by her side at the age of 10.
Peaches was a headstrong and bold piggy that knew what she wanted but when in the mood she used to love a cuddle, especially in her younger years. She used to sleep on her side in the cutest way and loved to sprawl out on her fleece.
We feel a great sadness at losing her, especially as she was the last of our first piggies but are also grateful that we were able to provide Peaches with a happy life for so many years.
You will always be in our hearts, our dearest Peachiemoo.
Love Mummy & Daddy x
