Pebble is off to the vets

I hope you can enjoy the theatre. It's only one day Pebble's routine will be altered and you can feed him when you get back and before you go to bed. I've had this a few times when I've been syringe feeding and managed to get a bit extra in the feeds before and after going out.

I’m going to be out for most of the day. We have tickets to the theatre. We hardly ever go out, now I wish we hadn’t booked it. 😢

He’s had about 12ml of syringe food and some veggies. He’s in the hay pile now having a munch. It’s not ideal but I’ll feed him again as soon as I get in this evening.

Hi

Just try to get some more into him this evening - ideally about two or three good feeds. He fact that he is actively munching means that he has not lost his appetite completely nor his will to live, which means that you can hopefully get some bigger feeds into him tonight.

Life happens and you have to work around it. These kind of scenarios have a really bad habit of happening at the most inconvenient of times (not that they are ever convenient...) He'll survive. :tu:

And please make sure that you enjoy your own day out as much as you can.

Don't think about it in hours but in days - 24 hour feeding periods where you want to average out. Unless a piggy is totally off food, struggling to take on 5 ml in one go and fighting for their life, piggies can cope with feeding gaps during the day and night.

I hope that looking at it this way helps to keep your stress levels under control.

Enjoy your trip to the theatre, you will feel better for the trip and Pebble will be ok if you follow the advice others have given.
It’s always a bad time when piggies are unwell.
Hugs 🤗

Sorry he's having dental issues, but good he's taking feeds and meds well, and hope you weren't so worried last night it spoilt your evening. Hopefully he'll be feeling better soon and you can get back to normal, albeit with a slightly lighter purse! :( Keep us posted.

Pebble is doing ok. Being a good boy for meds and feeds. I’ll be calling the vets tomorrow to get him booked in for the dental. 😟

It’s not going to get better on its own.

Glad that Pebble has survived your day out. I hope that you have been able to enjoy the performance.

All the best for his dental.

I had to keep telling myself that I can’t do anything until I get home so try not to worry. It worked mostly.

The show was very good. It was Miss Saigon. I did enjoy the day out. Thank you everyone for your understanding and comforting words of support. ❤️

I hope you can get Pebble booked in soon for his dental
He has a devoted slave 🥰

He’s booked in on Friday at 9.30.

He ate 28mls of syringe feed this morning! He wouldn’t give up the syringe. I’ll have to feed more today though as he’s still losing about 20g a day 😢

Good luck at the dentist Pebble.
I hope he starts putting weight on soon.
I've got a dentist appointment on Friday as well!
