I was walking by the cage earlier and pebbles thinking it was food time put her head up, I was tickling under her chin, when I felt it. It's maybe a bit smaller than a marble, it's on her neck. I've never ever noticed it before and I always scratch her there. I immediately grabbed Wilma too check she didn't have one just incase it was normal.

It's hard to explained exactly were it is, a picture will be impossible for me to get as she is so fluffy..

I'm taking her to the vets monday, I just hope it's nothing serious, she is totally fine in herself...

In the meantime I'm going to monitor it.

Oh hun, fingers crossed its nothing to worry about. Good thing is you've caught it early.

If its not bothering her I would just keep an eye on it. I know it will be really hard to do but its probably the best thing. Someone will be along soon who knows all about lumps and bumps to put your mind at rest.

I'm sure its nothing to worry about as Joey has two very small pea size lumps near his nipples, the lump are under the skin and are solid, the vet said they are nothing to worry about unless they grow or bother him. They have stayed small and they certainly dont bother him.

But getting her checked out is a good things as you can take all three and have a health check up too!

Hope all goes well and I'm sure its nothing to worry about. :)

I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow to get it checked, they are open sunday so hopefully can fit Pebbles in, will phone first thing! :)

AWW Bless her. Fingers and crossed it's nothing hun, I think they do get harmless lumps don't they? Hoping it's one of those.

GREAT your vet is open Sunday!

let us know what they say.

As you can tell she was very cooperative!

It is probably an enlarged lymph node if it is some way down the neck and is a discrete hard lump. Is there a lump on the opposite side of her neck?
If your vet charges extra for a Sunday appointment, then change it to Monday!

No she only has it on one side... it is discrete, hard and it is quite big(marble size bit smaller maybe). I haven't noticed it before.

have no idea on lumps :( really hope it turns out to be nothing xx

That is larger than I thought. It could be a sebaceous cyst, a lipoma or a fibroma. It will probably be none of those!!
However, I would be fairly certain that it is a benign lump.

Hannah had a lump in a similar position, but hers was bigger. She had it removed and it turned out to be a lipoma (fatty lump). In most cases lumps on piggies are nothing to worry about, but best to get it checked.

Hopefully will get it checked today! How quick did Hannah's lump appear?

It seemed to appear incredibly quickly. I hadn't even realised it was there and had taken her to Simon as she had a bad foot and as I held her while he looked at her foot I felt it for the first time. I think, because they can sometimes have quite a flabby under chin, that maybe a lump isn't always as obvious.

I'm hoping it is just a fatty lump or something fingers crossed! Will be phoning the vets at 9 hopefully can get an appointment!

I hope it went okay, and its nothing serious.
I have no experiance with lumps other than Hoover but his was on his back and leg and was growing rapidly overnight...so I doubt its the same thing.

Just back,

The vet seems to think it is the lymph node that is enlarged, due to an infection. She gave me baytril and I have too give it twice a day... if not better we are too go back in a week!

She didn't give me any probiotics but I have some anyway, so shall give her that.

She was suppose to be getting her 2nd dose of Xeno 450... should I continue treatment with that? I forgot to ask the vet!

Sounds identical to Africas 'neck' lump. I haven't even bothered with the vet, it doesn't hurt, isn't attached and is hard marblish size too, not attached. It hasn't grown and he's had it at least a month now. He hasn't changed behaviour or habit either. Do what you think best, but think twice about ops of course, if it can be lived with then its best too =] I just check Africa every now and again to make sure it hasn't grown.
