Yes, my vet gives 5 days of antibiotics as well. Hopefully your boy will be fine. Have you got a girly pig lined up for him?

I'm going to contact wood Green 2 weeks before he's clear to meet a girl as they can reserve for 2 weeks
Hoping they have a girl in that time there.

So Han has had sloppy poo troubles for a very long time. He's had his poos tested and been tried on antibiotics. Nothing helped. Only when he was on special pellets in his food it helped a little but then he'd go back to sloppy poo. Anyway last night his poo was perfect! It was proper poo shaped and everything. I hadnt fed him anything different. But this morning before his veg feed he went back to sloppy poo:( I don't understand why it went nice for a while. I thought perhaps the metronidazole is doing something, but he has his last lot tonight. He's also been on special pellets for a couple of weeks now to help his gut
Nightmare

That's interesting about the poo. We've used metronidazole in guinea pigs with diarrhoea with fantastic results.

how long do you usually do the course for?
I think he had bad poos again earlier, my sibling cleaned his cage and his butt looks a bit mucky. he hasn't done any more poos. tried to have a gentle clean and feel around incase he is impacted but can't really tell, don't want to get too rough with him.

I am pretty sure we have done a couple of weeks.

I've noticed since his neutering, when he's walking his 'empty sac' looks pretty saggy...is this normal? Will it tighten up over time? When he sits down it's like a deflated balloon. Maybe it looks worse because he was shaved down there too.
