OMG - I have just read this thread! I am glad that you have them back safe and sound.

What a bizarre thing to happen! It wasn't someone hoping to get some money for returning them was it?! Its just such a strange thing for someone to do but then there are some oddballs out there.

I think the Police should have been a bit more sympathetic - at the end of the day there was still a crime committed.

Hi

It is just too wierd.....i have locked them all away in the shed, and put all the runs etc away too...just in case there planning on coming back for those tonight.
One of my neighbours thought perhaps it was kids...and maybe when the mother discovered them she bought them back...i just cant make head nor tail of it. I'm just glad there safe as I was dreding the thought of them being gone overnight....were in the country here and there are so many foxes about etc...so in one respect I can sleep easy tonight!

How weird and very disturbing. At this point I'm so glad you just simply have them both back. I'd keep an ear out tonight at the shed to see if you can catch anyone out who may be trying to either muck about or steal animals, but it still doesn't explain why they were both brought back...very, very odd. Poor little mites!

how very scary for you, glad all your babies are back where they should be

glad they're back and well, and glad you've taken the precaution of locking them away, I also do this even though i live quite remotely, you never know who/what is out there.

I think someone is messing about, it may be kids or teenagers, or it might be some weirdo, so I think you've done the right thing locking them up :)

Glad you were able to get the piggies back. Lock the shed and when you have them outside in the run ... supervise them. Also lock the hutches with padlocks if you ever have them outside again.

Some people are interested in the boars to have them for breeding. Others just like the slightly stronger colours on them.

As for the police.... in their eyes no crimes has been committed because the piggies are back! If your pig would still be missing then they would consider that.

Wishing you luck, there is still hope...

2 years ago now whilst piggies were in their run Milly found a dip in the grass and made the great escape. To cut a long story sort we found her the next day in next doors garden which was empty at time.Milly was under some bricks as flat as can be.She was a little scruffy but otherwise fine.

It was this time of the year too.Keep searching under the undergrowth she is unlikely to have gone far.Leave your other piggies out as late as poss they may call for her...

Good luck, thinking of you.sx

Sorry missed other posts

Apologies missed the other posts, glad to hear your good news.Sounds rather sinister thoughrolleyes

It might be a good idea to talk to the childrens mother and get her to talk to the children to see if they opened the hutches or not. If you explain how worried you are about someone trying to steal your piggies and how you just want your mind put at ease that they opened they hutches.

That is extremely bizzare and upsetting......not to mention very disturbing. :o The thought of someone messing about with my animals makes me go into rabid dog mode, I'm afraid! :red I am SO pleased that you have them all back safely.....you must have been out of your mind with worry. :(
