Junior Guinea Pig
Morning All!
I may have inadvertently become the owner of a lionhead bunny.
I am aware of the issue of Bordetella bronchiseptica, and am also aware that this is carried, too, by dogs, which I also have. My pigs and old dog get on very well, and are very good friends, so often come in to close contact when we're all on the sofa.
Should we rehome the rabbit, it would be in the same room as, but certainly not the same cage or run as, the guinea pigs - would this be considered safe? I understand Bordetella bronchiseptica is not an airborne disease, so removing physical contact should suffice?
Nothing is set in stone, as my piggies come first! It is just a bunny needs homing urgently, I fear it may be 'released' into the fields otherwise (in which case I will take it anyway and force it on my mum.. until we can get a home!).
Thanks for any advice!
