Hi I have one male guinea pig who is about a year and a half old and I don’t want to use the cage I have. I heard C&C cages are better and easier. I want one enough for 2 guinea pigs because I plan on getting another soon. I heard 2x4 is perfect for 2 Guinea pigs, is that true? I just need some links to the plastic stuff and metal grids (the cubes) because the ones I found are kinda confusing me. It’s a 2x4 cage but some people said to get a very large piece of plastic which confused me.

Where are your based?
Depending on where you live we will be able to suggest suppliers for the parts you need to build a C&C cage.
With my first cage I got an entire 'kit' which included everything I needed from here:

The large piece of plastic (usually called correx) is used as the base, and also creates a small wall on the inside around the edge of the cage.
I love it but it isn't essential - I just think it makes life (and cleaning) easier.
For my next cages I just bought grids and put it together with cable ties.

When I made my pigs’ c and c cage I got a large sheet of correx (plastic base of the cage) from wickes and it was really cheap. I got the grids from amazon.
My two pigs are in a 3 by 4 but that’s because it fits in the space nicely. I got the piece of plastic for the base bigger than the actual cage because when we made it we folded the edges up so it contains the bedding.
The c and c cage was definitely cheaper than other cages for the size you can build.

We went to C&C Guinea Pig Cages - Home - c and c guinea pig cages too. Very helpful and everything you need in one place.
I found those too but it’s more expensive. I get the complete set makes it easier but it cost way more
Yea I found websites like that but those cost more because they are all in one spot. I just need help making my own without buying a complete set.
So what would you recommend for a 2x4? People on another website were saying get a 48x96 and I'm like that’s way too big, do they just cut it?Hello,

Just a point to be aware of - if you are planning to add another boar to your existing male guinea pig a larger cage than 2x4 is recommended- a 2x5 is the recommended minimum for two boars.

Correx-wise I have always bought the largest piece available which is normally 8ft x 4ft (2400mm x 1200mm) and just cut it and scored it.

Oh ok, I’ll get a 2x5 then. Now where do I get the storage cube things? I know they have it in store (I’m in the US) at Walmart and Home Depot but how many should I get?

Amazon is the cheapest place I've found, the Amazon Basics Wire Storage grids work well. The four cube pack would be fine for a 2x5.
I know Bed, Bath and Beyond sell the grids. Home Depot is recommended for the actual Correx.
Grid Wire Modular Shelving and Storage Cubes
You need to decide whether you’re putting the cage straight on to the floor or if you want a stand / roof etc and work out how many cubes you’ll need. So for a basic 5x2 on the floor with no base you’d need 14 grids - 10 for the long sides and 4 for the ends (2+2). If you want a stand etc you’ll need two packs.
