Please help

[Concerned Guinea Pig Mom]

Ok so my guinea pig her name is Paris she is a mix of different colors I got her last year on May 22 2020 as a birthday gift. I love her I really do but I just feel so detached from her is that normal? She also eats puppy pads which I try to get her to stop doing but it never works! What should I do about that. I’m kind of scared of her so I can’t bring myself to touch her. Please help what should I do? I’m having thoughts of giving her away. Is that for the best?

Also she wakes up early and starts screaming and even if I feed her she screams again so I’m terrified of the mornings.

Hello. Do you have any rescues near you that you could surrender her to? That way they could pair her up with a friend and find her a forever home. It does sound like you haven’t really bonded with her. They are such lovely animals. Have a look on the rescue locator.

I agree with @weepweeps If you are struggling to bond with her and if you are scared of her, it may be in her best interests to surrender her to a rescue who will bond her with a friend and find her a new home x

Good for you admitting that you don’t really bond with your piggy. They are not for everyone.
That shows how thoughtful and caring you are, as well as courageous.
The advice to see if there is a rescue near you is good.

I agree with the above. The screaming may also be because she wants company. I’ll link to rescues below. Do try not to restrict yourself with regards where the rescue is. Within reason of course given how big US is! I hope you can find her a new home soon.
