Still no sign of him:(
one of the kids had left the front door open for numerous minutes last night whilst he in the garden nattering with mates grrrr so it's seeming more likely now that he got out.
Got home from work tonight to find eldest daughter outside in the back garden insisting she could hear him around next doors fence area, went with torch and had a look and listen myself for an hour solid around the garden and I didn't see/hear him (I think in her mind she wants to believe he is there and alright) all I could do was promise to go look at daybreak and get access to neighbours back garden for a thorough look, our garden is quite overgrown and a bit of a mess but next door has nice neat garden and lots of shrubbery around the sides, they used to have a rabbit but I don't know if they still got it though.
If he got outside I would think his chances are slim? it's been cold and wet last night and tonight, and like I said there's cats and foxes around here. How long could he survive the cold and wet is 2 nights possible? Is he likely to go toward street area or go to the sides and stick with garden?
The other piggy seems a bit lonely although they were seperated due to fighting they lived next door to each other. He is getting lots of attention and cuddles.

I'm going to put a box with hay outside now 2.30am just incase, thanks for all your suggestions and sympathy I'm not a piggy expert like most of you guys and really appreciate your help :)

aww :( I really hope he comes home soon

I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed he does

xx

Good luck - really hope you find him soon. He may have found a little cosy spot somewhere that cats/foxes cant get to. Keep listening for him and we'll all keep hoping he shows his face soon,
x

Best thing to try if hes still inside, is putting a strong smelling food down. My Piggys love basil, and cant resist it. Try geting a plant of basil (from supermarket) pull some leaves off and break then up with your hands (to help release the smell) and put a little pile in each room before you go to bed, if hes indoors he will let himeslf known by scoffing it. If he got outside then he could be hiding, so try looking in any little gaps, and try some posters as someone might have found him. Good luck and I hope you find him :)

Hi, I know you said you have searched everywhere and moved everything but I did the same with my cat, and I found her in the most tightest spot possible, god knows how she got in there but she did (I had just moved in) so she was scared.

Anyway, it might be that when you moved something to look you GP ran and hid again, clever little things and quick so dont give up x

I really, really hope you find your boy, i don't ever want to read about a missing pig ever again on here, my experience was too much.
It might seem silly, but when the kids have gone to bed, try sitting in the kitchen or where they live, maybe even the garden, really low down so if he is somewhere close, you might here him scritting across a floor or in a bush but do it in the dark. Keep a loo roll stuff with hay in it on you too.

Be hopeful, but don't kick yourself if you don't find him - torturing yourself about it wont do you or him any good.

I have my fingers crossed for you hun.

I agree with this, he could be stuck some where really un-obvious - look behind any large appliances that have a tight fit!

Another day of searching and nothing :( all food/hay and stuff I've left out is untouched. Been round all neighbours gardens and spoke to them... heard a horror story about next doors rabbit and another hopeful story about a guinea being found in a settee days after disappearing.
Keeping my hopes up if just for the kids sake but with no trails of anything in the house or evidence of him eating my hope is fading fast :(

is there no trace of poops or anything in the gardens or anywhere? any loose floorboards or skirtings.

I'm so sorry :(

Ooo good luck finding your little piggie.

I found with my wee skittish one, Artie, he never ran far when frightened. The first time he escaped he hid under a nettle bush not making a sound. If you can use a brush/broom under furniture (lightly sweeping) this will usually get him moving, try to keep the doors in your house closed over night and keep an eye out for piggie poop.

Have you looked in warm dark places like airing cupboards/ closets? Anywhere dark and sheltered?

Do you have a spare/old hutch outside? You could leave that under a tree/in a bush, fill it full of hay and see if he uses it as shelter.

Another suggestion is to look under bushes/trees/ bins/ rubbish. piggies prefer dark safe places than wide open spaces.

I lost my hamster thimble for two days, we thought the cat had got him in the end as we left the house doors open.....eventually my OH went to fetch a clean towel from the heating cupboard and there was Thimble curled up on top of a fresh pile of laundry!

Hope you find your wee one soon xxxxx

No updates sorry, sad to say we have given up hope of ever seeing our little Tubs again :(
We got a new baby guinea pig yesterday for the remaining one to have some company but it's not the same, and he can never replace Tubs R.I.P :(

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help, a real shame his ending was a real mystery :(

So sorry to hear you haven't found Tubs. 8... They are irreplaceable, each and every one of them. (((((hugs)))))

Yeah I'm devastated, hearing the fireworks every night hasn't helped all I could think of was him petrified and freezing somewhere 8...

Keep looking out of the bedroom windows in the gardens and down the street hoping I'll see him but knowing I won't

This is Tubs (brown and white, and Mr T black) when they were babies x)

What a beautiful piglet with a lovely smile, you must miss him very much. x

He loved his chin being rubbed more than anything, miss him loads xx

I read this thread , hoping for a happy ending but unfortunately not :(
You did all you could, I'm sorry for your loss :(
*virtual hug*

Sorry to read Tubs hasn't been found =/. Its not a pleasant feeling having one of your pigs seemingly disappear, in my case it was two and we only ever found the one in a rather bad state. I hope that at this stage, you dont find him because its been a long time out and its better if you just move on hun. I know that sound sh!tty, even now 2 months on i mull over what i should or could have done but its water under the bridge.
I'm sure your new little piglet will provide a good distraction and give you lots of love <3

i had been wondering if tubs had been found, so so sorry he has nt, its the not knowing what happened that must be so hard to cope with x x
