How is he doing today Suzanne? Are you managing the syringe-feeding ok?

Gentle hugs to Billy. xx

hi there, I'm new on here, but i lost my boy only last saturday following a stone op, unfortunately his stone was huge but he recovered well, only thing was he never stopped sqeaking so he was going to have to have the op again, but after a lot of time spent with the vet we both agreed the best thing was for him to go to gp heaven, he had been through so much and battled well for his mummy, but sadly he had lost so much weight and i really didnt think he could survive another op.

I miss him so much, its so raw 8.....................:(

Anyway, i wish you so much luck with yours, i really do hope he gets better soon, its always a relief that they get through the surgery never mind anything else.......x>>

Hope he is doing well now :)

My guinea pig Barney is going through the same thing now, he's having his op right now. He's at a good vet though, so I'm just hoping he's okay after

Fingers crossed for your guinea-pig flash, and I hope Billy feels better soon too :)

Thanks everyone - it's been an awful few days to be honest. Billy refused to eat anything for a while & syringe feeds weren't going well. It was so bad that we actually said our goodbyes to him last night. I went in to feed him at 4am & honestly expected the worst but there he was waiting :)
He seems a lot better today - eating a lot more & back up at the bars at veg time. I've got a post op appointment at the vets tomorrow with him so fingers crossed for that.
Sorry for not posting sooner, it's been quite hard work with him, I'm just so glad he has picked up x>>

So sorry to hear Billy hasn't been co-operating, but very glad to hear he's picked up.

I hope he continues to get stronger and stronger for you xx

I am glad he's picked up a little now, sorry to hear it has been such a difficult time post-op for him (and you), best of luck at the vets today.

Is he on any pain relief?

Not good news today I'm afraid - Billy is back at the vets having an emergency op. His stitches have opened & there was something hanging out - the vet has had to re-open him up to see what it is that's exposed. I'm in a terrible state 8...

Hope that everything is ok now and sending positive vibes your way.

Thinking of you and Billy x x x x

BIG HUG

And all fingers crossed for poor Billy!

Thanks everyone for your wishes x
Billy is home now but not looking too good. The vet had to remove the thing that had come through the stitches - he did tell me all about it but to be honest I have no idea what he said, it was all a bit too much. They kept him in for quite a while at the vets to monitor him but thought it would be best to send him home before they closed because being in a scary place wasn't helping him. He's not really eaten but he had a nibble of coriander when we got home & did a little poop. I'm leaving him to rest for a while as he seems comfortable. He really does need all your vibes now to get through it xx
