Just a bank holiday musing..
I know popcorning’s often associated with piggies being happy but I’ve noticed mine seem to do it most when they’re annoyed. Winnie will often jump and spin in the air when she’s annoyed at how long it’s taking to get her veg to her, or if you offer her something that’s not exactly what she wanted
I love to see how spirited she still is at the age of 6.5. Her stropcorns sometimes end with her jumping on her furniture.
Dottie will do an angry squeak jump if she thinks Winnie has been given something better to eat (she doesn’t, it’s just Dottie’s incurable FOMO). And the only time Winnie zooms these days if she’s hangry and waiting for food. The stropcorns can also be brought on by one pig being too close to the other. Winnie is an Abyssinian and Dottie is an aby/peruvian cross, and one of our vets said she finds Peruvians can be quite the divas. I’m sure different personalities come in all breeds and types, but these two are definitely not backwards in coming forwards.
Anyway assuming they’re not too annoyed or frustrated, it’s highly amusing to watch.
Do any of your pigs stropcorn?
