I would definitely get that checked out, especially if it hurts her when you move it. As far as I am aware fatty lumps don't tend to be painful. It could possibly be some kind of cyst or abscess maybe?

It could also be a lymph nobe. The vet will be able to check the other lymph nobes to ensure they are not inflamed. I do not wish to alarm but it is essential you get her to a vet for a proper diagnosis.

Let us know how you get on. X

2 30 going to vet think its a mammary gland tumour a friend of mind who has rescure

been to the vets vet said its mass tumour its grows quick its cancer he said just keep a eye on it
my friend has a one guinea pig but its got cancer its still eating a drinking

Could be a mamery tuma, l have a sow that had one of those , vet did a mammery strip
(removal of lump and all surounding mamary tisue)
not as daunting as it sounds
if i remember corectly the biggest problem was sow pulling stiches out

din,t he take a sample for biopsy?
safer than waigting to see if it spreds

hi Claire, l was talking about a fine neadle biopsi , aparentaly chanses of it spredding through a f.n.b. are minamal

though personaly now that l have had a pig that had a mam strip , l would go fo the mam strip
it was vertualy troble fee

Yes this bringing back some memories,
the pig in question is a boar, and when my head started to clear after the problems
l have been having, the first thing l noticed was this lad with a lump like in the above
photo.
l wasent fit to drive ! so l whent to a local vet who did a neadle biopsi,.
But l wasent impresses by him and l decided to get a taxi to my own vet in widnes
John (vet) said he thought it better by far to do a mam strip,

l have just been down stairs to look at the lad, and you would never know he had the opp.
still not shure hao long ago it was :soz:

:)The Boar in question is caled Belleret, daft name for a boar, lol but at the time l was having troble
telling 2 pigs appart,
the lad was a look alike for a sow old sow of mine caled Bella.

:oops::btt:

My girlie was diagnosed with Lymphoma, it started behind the nipple this can be confirmed by needle biopsy. My girl did very well on steroid tablets I'll look up the name for you. Lymphoma can develop quickly, did he have a feel of her other lymph nobes?

thats where hers is he just said he was a mass not to worry about it at moment only it if grows quick

the vet said he could do a need but he said just watch it to see if it grows quick

pick her up yesterday urine all over her tummy washed her later that day it was all over again washed her going to phone vets soon either unit bladder or kidney or c

Sounds like it could a bladder infection Please let us know how you get on at the vets

Hope all goes ok at the vets. It does sound like a UTI, though ovarian cysts can cause similar symptoms.

he give her a met cam injection i have to still her more of it acouple of days loads of strange noise she making aswell

Sorry am having trouble following your post. Do you mean the vet has given you Metacam for a few days? Has the vet prescribed any antibiotics?

yeah afew days injection for today start her metacam tomorrow the only give my enough for 2 to 3 day s

Sorry your piggy is unwell. Did the vet you saw tell you what he/she thought was wrong with Poppy? Keep a very close eye on her. Any signs of sluggishness, loss of appetite, weight loss, hiding all the time etc. should ring alarm bells. Unfortunately guinea pigs can go downhill extremely quickly. Fingers crossed things improve.
