Posh has been dating!

This morning Posh went dating at Maria’s animal Sanctuary. I felt a bit tense after a brief bonding session with Hector and Kiki which as expected didn’t go well the other day. Anyway Posh has come home with a little friend. It’s very early days but it is looking quite relaxed between them. Posh has been grooming her and also putting her in her place if she gets in her face but on the whole it looks quite promising (hardly dare say it)
We haven’t decided on a name until we know they have fully bonded and the grandkids Olivia and Poppy are listing lots of names, in which we will have a vote on the top three
Posh and baby have been chomping in the hay, both have had a sleep (baby very tired late this afternoon) We have set up a monitor so we can watch them. they are in an old run in our conservatory at the moment. I’m in no hurry to move them to Posh’s cage and they seem quite happy there

The dominance sounded on the milder side of putting a new baby at the bottom of the hierarchy but Posh hs obviously got a maternal side to her and is not feeling threatened. The baby is now hers and you can relax!

I think they are doing well. baby is a little bit cheeky, she snatched a piece of lettuce out of Posh’s mouth tonight. Posh gave her a couple of nips but I don’t think it hurt her as she was popcorning two seconds later?

That is very normal behaviour; youngsters learn what is edible and what not this way.

Thank you. Baby has been fairly quiet this afternoon, sleeping under the hay (just like yesterday afternoon) she then comes alive around teatime. She has been chasing around tonight and popcorning, Posh has joined in too. At one point she groomed the side of Posh’s face which was quite lovely although a little alarming as 8 was not sure how Posh would react, but she was fine
