Hello!
I'd just like a bit of advice about what may or may not be skin problems in my guinea pigs. I have one 5 year old boy who I recently noticed has brown streaks on the bald patches behind his ears. He's active, seems very happy, eats well and drinks well, doesn't scratch very much, and his bathroom habits are normal.
He's not been in contact with any other pigs (his cage mate died a while ago) and I've started cleaning the areas with salt water. At first, bits of brown seemed to come off, but that's now stopped. I've searched online and I thought it might be fungal, so I've used a tiny bit of Canesten on the areas. But I'm not sure.
I also have two baby boys (10 weeks old) who I brought home 3 days ago, who are brothers and have not been in contact with my 5 year old. One of them has a small bald patch on his head and both have light brown stripes in the bald patches behind their ears. Because it's been Easter weekend and the vet's not open, I've also cleaned those areas with salt water and applied a tiny bit of canesten. Should I continue this treatment?
I've checked them thoroughly and I'm 99% sure it's not mites in any of them.
Thanks!

It could be fungal, but if you could post photos that would be great. Only a vet can diagnose though so it will mean getting all 3 checked my a vet. I recommend Imaverol dips if the diagnosis is fungal and it can be applied topically too. Please could you also confirm your location.

Thanks guys, I'll be posting photos as soon as my phone stops being dead!
I live in the UK, if that helps with recommending treatment.
I will be taking them to the vet, but since they're closed all weekend and Monday for Easter it's meant I've had to wait before phoning for an appointment.
Thanks!

Here are some photos.
Mostly it's just light brown patches on the young ones, but on the black and white 5 year old the patches have had little brown bits come off when I've cleaned them. I've checked and no hair comes out, and there's no sign of mites or infestation.

Oh wow, okay then! That's reassuring tbh, and would make sense since they're not that bothered by it (which I'd have thought they would be if it were full blown fungus)
I think it does look really similar to that photo, more so than the others I've seen!
The one on his nose/head is the 5th photo in, which isn't very clear.
It'd be a weird coincidence if they all had a yeast infection despite only two being housed together right now! Is that more common than I thought then?
Thanks so much for the help, I'll continue with the Canesten treatment and cleaning until they get to the vet. :)

And thanks ;)

It may be that the spot on the head is different though still possibly fungal. I would still speak to the vet in case it is more than just a yeast infection and requires Imaverol. You could be dealing with 2 different types here. I do think the patches behind the ear look like a yeast infection though.

Sorry I meant head, do not know why I said nose.

Of course, I was just looking for what to do before they're open again :) I've wondered if the patch on the little one's head could be from barbering from his previous cage mates, since the skin there doesn't look abnormal besides the lack of hair, but the skin behind the ears had me worried.
Thank you so much for the help :)
