Senior Guinea Pig
Hey
So little Jeff was castrated on Friday, and was given antibiotics - I've decided to give him the antibiotics because I don't have a lot of faith in the RSPCA vet! (When mine were castrated, I didnt bother with antibiotics because I'm confident in my vets ability to operate aseptically!)
Anyway, I was given antibiotics so called into work and picked up some probiotic, critical care sachets, vit C etc. so I was prepared for what the little pig needed. Hes eating fine, taking his antibiotics fine, but he HATES the probiotic!
I'm using fibreplex, and TRYING to get one graduation into him, twice a day - but argh lol - he hates it - I've tried putting it on food - he won't touch it - I've tried tricking him into eating it (here, have a bit of your fav food, and some more, and another bit, and some with probiotic on! - nope!)
At the moment I'm syringing it into his mouth and I'm getting some of it into him, but hes spitting about half of it out - obviously some is better than nothing - his poos are normal and hes eating fine so my question is this...
How important is probiotic when your piggy is on antibiotics? (And are there any easy ways of getting it into them?!)
