Purring

Can anyone share an accurate video of a guinea purring? I‘ve searched high and low but all the clips I’ve seen have been of owners mistaking purring for rumbling.

My two are very vocal and I want to be able to distinguish between purring and general chatter/exploring chirps

Purring is quite distinct from chit chat as they're moving around their cage or having lap time. I can't recommend a video though I'm afraid. It also depends on the context what it may mean.

I tend to work on the context.
If the purring occurs when food arrives it’s usually happy purring.
If you have a boar and he’s anything like mine it’s rumbling

They make different noises I’m just finding hard to know what purring itself sounds like, other than like a cat. but thank you!

The video actually talks about both, though.
They are essentially the same noise.

Purring usually comes in short bursts (well it does with my lot!) Mine do it when there is any unusual noise such as rattling of keys when I go to unlock the door. Black bird alarm calls in the garden will also make mine purr. I don’t th8nk mine have ever purred to show delight at something - usually alarm/fright.
